Overview of the topic
Globalisation is regarded as the term which is used for describing that how trade and
technology have emerged in order to make the world more connected and independent.
Globalisation is the process which leads all the national economies to come together and
contribute in developing the nation (Ahmed, Z. and et. al., 2019). In the current time due to
globalisation this is easier for the businesses to manage their business functions outside the
country and in global manner. Globalisation has minimised the boundaries so that technology,
information and jobs across the nation can be provided. With the help of globalisation
organisations may attain competitive edge in the global market so that in cost-effective manner
differentiated aspects can be created by the organisations. This is stated that globalisation is the
turn for the global economies in which positive impact in which different trade partners are
added.
Relevance of the Proposed Research to Business Research
This research is having greater importance within business research as this is going to
assist the businesses regarding impact of globalisation on their businesses and overall economy
as well. The current research is related with understanding the concepts of globalisation in which
performance of the organisation can be boosted (Dodd, 2018). The retail fashion industry is
related with connecting with customers in such manner that all the strategies of the businesses
are used in order to gain higher success. This is analysed that globalisation is defined as one of
the major constraint which is used by the organisation so that in international level business can
be managed.
Place the proposed study in context
The organisation selected for the research is John Lewis Plc which is regarded as high-
end department store which is associated with retail industry. The company is privately held
public organisation which is owned by a trust and this is managed by their employees. The
organisation is having their presence in global manner which is one of the major reason that the
company is having appropriate market prominence (Haseeb and et. al., 2019). The major aspect
with the research is that the research will provide such measurements in which globalisation can
be used by the organisation as their business strategy.
