In today’s competitive business era, it is important for business to expand their
operations in different countries. it will help in sustaining in market for long term
and generating more profits. Globalisation has provided platform for organisations
to engage in global trade by developing relations with other countries. Also, it has
transformed the overall concept of doing business. Due to globalisation, business
environment has impacted locally, nationally and globally. In this, especially the
retail sector is growing rapidly in global trade. Companies are able to enter in
market by identifying needs of people. Furthermore, by offering variety of goods,
there is change in taste and preference of people. it has resulted in increasing living
standard of society.
Role of globalisation in growth of business
As said by Wood and Wilberger, 2015, in recent time, there has been high rise in
competition among retail companies. Due to this sales and profits of enterprises are
declining. they are finding it difficult to sustain in particular market. But evolution of
globalisation has allowed businesses to grow and develop. there has been rapid
growth in sectors like auto mobile, airline, etc. In similar way, retail companies are
making efforts in growing at large scale. The concept of globalisation is integrated
with technology. The emergence of E commerce has brought and connected
different markets on one platform. Now, companies are able to provide variety of
products to customers in wide range. E commerce has become a driver of success
for many businesses. The exchange of data and information have allowed business
to develop new products and services and attract large number of customers.
Ways in which globalisation drive business success
According to Soltes and Gavurova, 2015, integration of technology in business
has given a direction to operate at large scale. In addition to it, growth in multi
channel retailing is become a major component in doing business. By using internet
goods and services are offered to large number of people. This has enabled in
creating and developing relationships with customers in global market. Another
factor that is emerged in present time is branding. With help of globalisation, firms
are able to market and promote their products in global market. by this a positive
and effective brand image is created in minds of customers.
