TASK
(1) Reflection on group work using teamwork and motivational theories.
Team work
Based on the group presentation about Diana, princess of Wales, I have learned that team
work is essential to achieve goals, and we have accepted that team work can improve
relationship. Knowing the value of teamwork I have managed various difficult situation and
learn new things at workplace culture. While doing this presentation we have learned that team-
mates learn from each other and improves their communication skills and personnel skills. Our
team work effectively learned each other's strengths and improves each other's weaknesses. This
is the best way of building relationship between team members because it will ultimately create
healthy and positive environment (Al-Hoorie and Szabó, 2022). We have also learned that
teamwork can promote strong working and professional relationships with team members, which
is beneficial for organizational goals. Since people who trust and provide support to each other
are more likely to motivate each other, communicate effectively and work as a team.

Team work become unbalance if all the members have similar styles of attitudes and
roles. So, it is necessary to distribute roles and responsibilities on the basis of skills, knowledge,
experience and behaviour to perform team work effectively. If team members have similar
weaknesses, the team as a whole have to face lots of challenges such as lack of communication,

lack of motivation and lack of knowledge and ultimately creates conflicts between team
members. To solve such issues and deal with this situation, each team needs to understand role
and responsibilities so that they can easily develop strengths and manage weaknesses as a team.
Belbin's team roles
During the group presentation, we have successfully implemented and applied Belbin's
team roles model in order to improve team work so that we can complete our task. With the help
of this model, we can make sure that necessary team responsibilities and roles are covered, and
weaknesses and behaviour of each team-mates are addressed. We have learned that team with
full of knowledge, skills and discipline all together or mixed roles perform better than those that
are unbalanced.
According to Belbin's team roles there are three groups named as action oriented, people
oriented and thought oriented. Each of them is associated with interpersonal strengths and
behaviours. By studying and learning this model we have understood the importance of roles so,
one of our team member has divided us on the basis of action oriented roles which includes
shaper, implementer, finisher roles. Based on the behaviour of people in our team we have
received responsibilities of our project. For example- I was the one among my team members
who have received the responsibility of coordinator. The major role of coordinator as per
Belbin's model, is to acts as a chairperson who creates coordination between people in a team
and delegate tasks very effectively. In this way, each and every person is responsible for
particular role to complete the task.
