INTRODUCTION
Health and social care workplace is the place which works for improving condition of
people residing in society. There are many issues which are prevailed in society and hampers
growth of society. Hence health care centres works for some specific objectives such as health
care of old age people, children education initiative, etc. In order to improve condition of people
residing in society, there is requirement of proper planning and resources so proper services can
be provided (Bibby, 2017).
This report is based on Aldgate Residential Care Home. This is situated in London
Borough of Tower Hamlet. This health acre centre was analysed by Care Quality Commission.
There are around 40 residents clients, out of them 50% is suffering from issue of Dementia. As
per analyse it was found that this organisation is not performing well according to their
benchmarks. They are not treating patient in better manner. Hence this report covers safety
legislations implemented in health and social care workplace, ways in which health and safety
requirement impacts customers and other stakeholders and at last it focuses on monitoring and
review safety and security at health care sector.

2.1 Access how information from risk assessment informs care planning for individuals and
organisational decision
In health and care sector, there are many issues which has to be considered by managers
of Aldgate Residential Care Home. There is difference in issues faced by patients at Aldgate
Residential Care Home, so this is relevant and crucial for making policies for their development
and enhancement. At Aldgate Residential Care Home, there is issue in quality of services
offered by organisers because they are not treating patients well. This affects customer
satisfaction and hence brand image. There are many issues such as patients are treating with
dignity, there is no social activities, cleaning of toilets and room are proper these factors affects
working style of health acre centre (Coleman and et. al., 2012).
In order to deal with such issues, there is requirement of planning which assist in making
policies according to external environment. There are three main issues risk which arise at
Aldgate Residential Care Home, i.e. ill management of health and safety risk, poor quality of
eatables and drinking items, uncleanliness of bathroom facility. Planning is done related making

proper measures for providing safe environment to customers at Aldgate Residential Care
Home. For instance: there was a lady who was suffering from skin disease with deterioration is
negative for brand image because health and care sector is working to improve satisfaction.

To know about factors which affects consumer satisfaction such as hygienic factor, time
of serving food, etc.
Reasons of ill management such as lack of leadership, improper coordination among
personnel. Planning of new techniques, methods such as regular assessment by managers through
which cost and time for providing services can be maintained (Dollard, 2012).
Principles for risk assessment-
risk can be accessed with the help of analysis by managers of Aldgate Residential Care
Home. There are some changes which has to be made in working style so quality of
services can be improved. There are some changes which has to be made by taking
feedback from customers. As in case of Aldgate Residential Care Home feedbacks from client's relative must be
taken. This helps to improve quality of services which are relevant and crucial for
providing dignity and respect to old age people.

2.2 Impact of one aspect of health and safety policy on Aldgate Residential Care Home practice
and its customers
Health care sector works for improving condition of specified people. These
organisations register under specific act and work under it. Hence there are many acts such as
food act, safety and security act, etc. which has to be considered by managers of Aldgate
Residential Care Home. There is positive as well as negative impact of implementation of legal
laws at work place. There are some changes which has to be made at Aldgate Residential Care
Home, so they can work in specified manner.
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974- As per this act, it is responsibility of managers of
Aldgate Residential Care Home to take acre health of clients. There must be proper first aid
equipments which are relevant for providing basic facilities. For instance: there was a lady who
was suffering from skin disease, as this law, she must be taken care proper by take career with
first aid. In case of no improvement, proper treatment must be allotted (Health and Safety at
Work Act 1974, 2018).
With the help of this law, consumers are satisfied that health care organisation is working
for health benefits of patients. In health care people who are homeless or expelled out of home,
so care takers are responsible for their proper take care. Customers feel free to share their
problems with take carer and situation of old age people gets improved.

dementia. This disease means memory loss. Hence this is fruitful for creating good health of

2.3 Dilemma encountered in relation to implementing system and policies for health, safety and
security
Dilemma means a situation which has two alternatives and for individual it is difficult to
choice one. Health and social organisation works for some specified reason such as taking care
of old age home, cancer treatment, etc. hence sometimes, there are responsibilities of ethical

dilemma (Goetzel and et. al., 2014). These organisations are legally bind by laws, regulations,
etc. So they are able to work out of their reach. They can not work out of their work and
affections. This affects legal norms and policies. Dilemma at Aldgate Residential Care Home can
be faced due to implication of resources, risk of self or others, basic rights of service user and
safety prospects, difference in priorities of stake holders.
At Aldgate Residential Care Home, there is a case of dilemma which is discussed as
under-
There was an old age woman suffering from severe fever. Managers of Aldgate
Residential Care Home provide proper treatment but she does not feel well. In this case, doctor
advised to inform their family members because she needs more care and love of family. In this
case, there is dilemma whether to inform family members are not. If they inform them and they
refuse or they file case against Aldgate Residential Care Home improper take care of patients.
This dilemma affects working of social health care. In order to deal with this dilemma operators
of Aldgate Residential Care Home inform relatives of lady and tell them about everything. There
was no ill effect of informing because they ere able to understand situation and take lady with
themselves (Lipscomb and El Ghaziri, 2013).
Hence as per above case of dilemma it is clear that such cases affects operations and
sometimes this affects environment of organisation because there is difference in view of
organisers as well. This also creates imbalance and delay in taking corrective actions.
2.4 Effect of non compliance with health and safety legislation at Aldgate Residential Care
Home
Social and health acre organisation works for the betterment of society. There are many
reasons for which they establish. These organisations have to follow proper laws legal
regulations in order to maintain working style. In case, there is alteration in legislation
regulation, then managers of Aldgate Residential Care Home has to alter their working style. If
legal regulations are not followed properly, then this gives negative impact on working style of
Aldgate Residential Care Home. There are different legal laws such as safety and security act
which provides guidance to perform work in appropriate manner.
If managers do not take care of legal norms, then brand image of Aldgate Residential
Care Home reduced.

Roles and responsibilities are not properly defined and there is confusion operations. Due
to confusion take care process of client is not appropriate.
There is lack of harmony among peer members because there is difference in their
working style and views.
There are some disciplinary actions by Care Quality Commission (CQC) such as fines,
freezing of license, close down of organisation, etc.
Due to unfollowing of legal laws, there is miss-happening then organisation is liable for
answer or penalty (McCaughey and et. al., 2013).
Team work within organisation gets hampered because, there is no proper guidance and
direction to pursue welfare activities.
Hence above discussion shows, there are negative results of non compliance of legal rules
and regulations. There must be legal practitioner which provides knowledge about alterations in
legal laws. There must be use of different policies so operations are performed according to legal
norms. There is negative impact on brand image of Aldgate Residential Care Home of they does
not abid them. As per analyse by Care Quality Commission organisers of Aldgate Residential
Care Home are working now as per legal norms.

From the above discussion it is clear that there is crucial role of legal acts and laws in
health and care organisation. There are many changes which has to be made in plans and policies
which are significant and relevant to serve best services and follow proper rules and regulations.

Communication is important for delivering relevant information to internal as well as external
parties. Risk assessment is best way to take corrective actions in case of improper services. If
health care organisation follow legal norms, then it is relevant for maintain good image in
industry. Proactive approach for analysing situation is more relevant for getting results and
organisation is able to face issue at workplace. At last, it is clear that laws and legal regulation
are necessarily followed by health organisation to perform in better and smooth manner.
