INTRODUCTION
Health and safety is one of the greatest concern of the people in the society which can be
defined as regulations or procedures intended to prevent accident or injury at workplace. This
report will be based on the Winchester and Eastleigh NHS Trust and in recent years, The
employers and employees of this organization have to face many problems with the slips and
strips on wet hospital floor. So the study will going to focus on the health and safety policies in
organization. It will also help in developing a system to control the Slip/trip under the RIDDOR
(Reporting of injuries and disease and dangerous occurrence of regulations) at workplace. It will
also help in assessing the responsibilities for managing heath and safety within the trust. This
document will also helps in developing a health and safety priorities for services area in which
children are treated. This will also help in developing a policies and procedures that supports and
assists the Bariatric patients. It will also develop am understanding about the care worker carry
out the practices that governs in health and safety procedures.

2.1 Information from Risk Assessment about policies and procedures which controls the
bariatric patients
Risk Assessment can be termed as the way that helps to seeks the information in order to
identify the particular risk based on a weight, habit, disease, position, vulnerability etc which can
also be determined according to the age of the patient (Adler And et.al., 2016). Here is a Risk

In order to prepare the care planning for accessing the information regarding the decision
making of Bariatric patients. As the level of obesity is increasing among the large population of
UK and as a consequence the a greater number of obese patients with health conditions are
generally accessing the local health services.
Risk assessment will help in treating the bariatric patience with the electric bariatric
treatment couches which helps in lifting the heavy legs (Bibby, 2017). This assessment will helps
in providing the suitability of the environment, equipment and overall system that ensures the
needs of the patients needs with the safety requirements.
2.2 Impact of health and safety policy on handling the social care practices within organisation
Health and safety policy have great impact on the health and social care practices of the
patients. So in order to assess the health and social security of the bariatric patients, risk
assessment will be able to identify the specific risks in treating individual based on the age,
weight and habit of the patient. Assessment will helps in managing the risks which includes the
proper allotment of the staff members, provision of the appropriate equipment that helps in
proper treatment of the patients.
However the poor management record and improper design of the vehicles for patient
have greatly influenced the delays of the treatment of the customers. As the inaccessible
ambulances provided by the hospital in different areas may be the major reason behind the
severe disease of the patients. Whereas, proper work of the health care practitioners may leads to
the proper treatment facilities to the people and thus helps in curing the main disease of the
patients. On the other hand if the communication practices of the organization is well developed
then it may result in the ensuring the proper equipment and successful management of pain and
safety of the patient.
Impact of the Risk assessment policy paramount the proper treatment of bariatric
treatment as assessing the regular health of an individual (Blando, Ridenour, Hartley and
Casteel, 2015). This will helps in keep loosing the weight due to the obesity and vise versa on the
people who are loosing lot of weight and want to gain it. Regular improvement, will help the
employers in enriching the proper decisions regarding the quality of health and social care within
organization.

2.3 Dilemmas care workers that carry out the healthy and safety policies and procedures
At the time of implementing the system and policies for health, safety and security within
an organization that helps in facing various uncertain situations and dilemmas. So in order to
establish various policies and procedures in respect with the improved heath and safety measures
of the hospital, staff member have to face various challenges in properly providing the treatment
to the customers. So such dilemmas which is being faced by the workers in order to deliver the
best quality of services to its patients are as follows:
Health and safety risks in supply chain
Organization generally follows the some system and safety policies that sin order to
ensure the safe working place. As all the equipment and medical facilities are reinforced by the
third party which may be result in the unsafe workplace and higher rate accidents involved in
properly treatment of the bariatric patients at workplace.
Maintaining high technology
This allows the workers to ensure the proper functionality and allows the efficient
treatment of the patient (Guay, Goncalves and Boyer, 2016). Though high system and policies
regarding the use of high technology equipment at workplace will helps in providing the proper

As the health and social care consists of different types of Social care Act and regulations
in UK. So all the health and social care organizations need to obey such rules and regulations.
Implications of these rules and regulations will directly impact on the non-compliance of the
legislation such are as follows:

services in hospitals. So in order to prove the secure treatment, safety measures need to

be properly followed. If the organization will be non -compliance to the rules and
regulations then, it may negatively influence the the organization.
ď‚· There is a need to appoint proper physician of health and safety care practices within
hospital (Hanson And et.al., 2015). However, in case if the professional competencies are
not properly followed and leads to the death of the patient during the treatment then it
may result in a huge punishment.
ď‚· According to the mental health Act of 1983, there is a proper deadline and definition so if
health care professionals will treat any other as a mental patient then they may be resulted
in sealing the license of the one.

Review and measuring of the safety policies at workplace helps in the inspector and
other government executives to monitor the quality based services at providing proper health and
safety to public. So organizations have to continuously review the performance and health safety
by formulating proper policies and procedures at workplace (Health and safety at health care
services, 2017).
Measuring of Health and safety performance
It is the important way to identify the risks and threats realted to the health care and
safety of the human beings. Also this helps in reinforcing the proper procedures that will help in
improving such threats.

this type of reviews helps in providing the feedback about performance even before any

be discussed below:

successful design and construction of the appropriate strategies of the project may lead
towards the implementation of the healthy and safe culture within organization. Proper
reinforcement of the health and safety risk control helps in achieving the effective policies and
procedures of the organization.

Proper reporting of the diseases, illness and hazardous accidents and proper treatment fo
the patient using high technology equipment may result in promoting the positive, healthy and

managing the contingency of the fund and also formulation of proper strategies at workplace.

3.3 Evaluate own contributions to placing the health and safety needs of individuals at the centre
of practice
As the health and safety needs of the individuals includes various different kinds of
diseases so I have contributed a better part in identifying the non-smoking policies such as drugs
and alcohol ets. Being a supervisor of the health and social care practitioner at the Staffordshire
NHS Trust and Birmingham City, I have got an opportunity to supervise the house keeping
policies also. I also managed the written procedure in the field of providing the safety and
healthy environment by preventing the illness, injuries and hazardous conditions at workplace.
Also, I identified the risk in a written procedure by implementing the risk assessment
programs at workplace. I also contributed in promoting the employees to speak up regarding the
possible hazards and immediately proposed a change in order to correct the issues at workplace. I
also promoted various health and safety measures within organisation.
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it can be concluded that healthcare and safety as a professional
practice which need to consider various different types of policies and procedures. This study
will enable the learners in developing a clear understanding about the importance of continually
monitoring the implementation of health and safety legislation within the organization. This has
created a clear conceptual discussions about the system and policies of the Winchestor and
Eastleigh NHS Trust which treats to the patience in an effective ways.
