INTRODUCTION
Health and social care is one of the most concern factor for a country or city and due to
which several standards are created and actions plans are developed toward its development. The
current study is based on a borough of inner London. The Royal Borough of Kensington and
Chelsea is a borough of inner London with a royal status. It is considered to be the smallest
borough in London and second smallest district within England and is densely populated which
require more efforts to be put toward maintaining the social and economic health of people living
in that borough (Pritchard-Jones, 2015). To determine that whether the Royal Borough is
spending adequate funding toward improving and increasing the users involvement within
services which they are consuming, it is required to analyse about macro environmental factor.
This can be done with the help of PEST analysis which put emphases toward analysing the four
major factor that are crucial to determine the condition of area, which mainly includes political,
economic, social and technological. Addition to this it includes discussion about the problem
area and recommendation for it.

PEST Analysis
PEST analysis is a strategical tool which make it easier to determine whether the
administration of Royal Borough is spending the appropriate fund for the development and
improvement of services for the people living. Addition to this it also help in determining the
issues that are prevailing within administration of health and social care so the appropriate
measures can be undertaken along with channelizing the fund in its activities. The PEST analysis

as population of borough is aged and current 15
million people are living in this borough which a very
big figure. Due to this populated area several health
issues like cardiovascular disease, dementia,
respiratory disease are increasing. This will increase
awareness and help service user in recognising ear;y
sign so timely service can be accessed.
 The governing bodies supported the community user
having mental illness by organising a program usually
created for this area only named as IAPT. It is a
rehabilitation program for the people who are addicted
with drugs and also support homeless people and also
provide attention to cervical breast screening.
 The council of Royal Borough of Kensington and
Chelsea shares the responsibilities with Grater London
Authority in order to formulate strategic policies for
housing, environment and planning of improving
living standard of people. So that local people of
borough get home to live their life more effectively as
it is highly populated city which in turn result into
increasing illness and other health issues such as
cancer due to smoking and inappropriate
