INTRODUCTION
Health care environment can be described as environment which focus on experience of gmail,
employee and patients. There are different types of employees work in an health care
organisation in order to attain goals and objectives of company. These employees belong from
different culture and it is responsibility of health care managers to create an environment which
accept these cultural changes in business and also contribute for success of company. This
project report includes charity run family and community centre which is based on Surrey and
use local authorities for purpose of carry out youth work. It has board of trustees to conduct
meeting on three months. There are different types of conflict occur in staff of this organisation
due to cultural barriers. This project report includes advantage and disadvantage of organisation
structure. It explain ways in which organisation structure present in case study impact of culture
of organisation. Moreover, it discusses role of health care manager with consideration to factors
presented in case study.

Description of advantage and disadvantage of existing organisation structure and describe
alternative organisation structure to help culture and work practice of organisation
Charity run family and community centre is a business that has adopted hierarchical
organisational structure in its organisation. It has board of trustees and also centre director in
business. Hierarchical organisation structure is one of organisation structure which consist direct
chain of command from top to bottom. In this types of organisation structure all decision are
made by senior management of company and then passed down to subsidiary management level.
If any pyramid in this hierarchy wants to make any decision for company, they needs to pass
request from chain of command for approval (Banerjee and Srivastava, 2017). It can be operated
in organisation where are only few products and service offered by firm in large volume. It is a
structure which also ensure tight control, quality production, distribution of products and service.
There are different types of advantage and disadvantage get by an organisation from this types of
organisation structure for Family and community centre.
Advantage of Organisation Structure: There are different advantage get by business on basis
of Family and community centre. Some of advantage of this types of organisation structure for
this Family and community centre is mentioned below:

Control Orientation: It is one of organisation structure which allow firm to ensure
control over different activities in business. It allow Family and community centre to monitor
different activities and allow them to make different decision (Maine, Samuelsson and Uman,
2021). On basis of this structure, this business can take decision by senior trustees that allow
them to make quick decision and also saves their time.
Career path: Different types of career path existed in an organisation. With adoption of
hierarchical organisation structure, organisation can advance skills of employees by continuous
monitoring of their performance. Seniors people work in organisation has build experience
which allow them to provide right guidance to employees.
Clear Reporting: Centralise power in an organisation make it easier for a person to
make authorized decision. In hierarchy structure, all person can clear information about to
whom they needs to report. It provide clear understanding about different task to be performance
by employees and allow them to make quick decision by taking approval from seniors.
Specialisation: There are different niche position posses by a person which allow them
to be specialise. It allow them to use their expertise effectively by staffing them in number of
centre posses by company (Fenwick, 2021).
Disadvantage of Organisation Structure:: There are different types of disadvantage of this
organisation structure in an organisation like Family and community centre. Some of these
disadvantage in context of company is mentioned below:
Restricted information: There are different types of disadvantage of this types of
organisation structure for business of Family and community centre. It does not allow business
of Family and community centre to ensure free flow of information in business. It cause
dissatisfaction among employees which is not positive situation for business as it sometimes
leads to conflict. There is situation of conflict arise in Family and community centre as staff of
Manchester and Surrey centre are passing negative comment for decision of trustees.
Added cost: It is an organisation structure which create continuous cost for business. It
increase cost for business as it provide continuous support to senior management. It create extra
burden over profit of company (Stark, 2020).
Dissatisfaction among employees: It is one of organisation structure that create
dissatisfaction among employees as they are not involved in decision making. In business of

Family and community centre, Board meeting doers not involved people of Burnley before
making decision of shifting them into other centres.
Alternative organisation structure:
It is recommanded to Family and community centre to adopt Matrix organisational
structure in their organisation. It is important in order to reflect hierarchy among different
position and also for cross functional temporary and permanent team develop for different
project. In this type of organisation structure, team members has more managers that reflect
multiple chain of command. This types of organisation structure create different benefits for
business which are mentioned below:
Collaboration among department: It is one of organisation structure which allow a
person to ensure collaboration among different department that helps them to improve skills of
team members. It is also important for company to capitalise various resources which seek
expertise and also recruit people for managing project of company (Sołtysik-Piorunkiewicz, and
Krysiak, 2017).
Combining projects as well as functional management structure: It is one of
organisation structure which allow charity run family and community centre to combine different
management structure that allow them to improve efficiency of company and also helps them to
implement changes in market. It also helps them to respect quickly for purpose of market
demand.
Allow interdepartmental communication: It is also important for business as it allow
for purpose of interdepartmental communication. It allow them to collaborate for efforts in order
to work together. It is one of organisation structure which does not allow employees to
communicate in open work environment. It allow business of charity run family and community
centre to communicate among different staff members which allow them to overcome of cultural
differences and also for language barrier.
Develop new skills among employees: It is also a organisation structure that provide
opportunity to employees that strengthen interpersonal skills and communication skills. It also
create different benefits for business as it allow them to complete work in effective manner and
also gain values for business (Charbonneau, and Bourrat, 2021).

Organisation structure in this case study create impact over culture. In this case,
Hierarchical organisation structure has been adopted in which maximum decision are taken by
trustees of company. Due to this type of organisation structure, conflicts occur in staff. It does
not allow employees to be involved in decision making process. It cause dissatisfaction among
staff members as they are not involved in decision making process. As one of youth club is
facing loss of money due to which board of trustee has made decision to move their staff from
Burnley centre to Manchester and Surrey (Briole and Belghiti-Mahut, 2018). It create tension
among staff members of Burnley as they are shifting to other centre and this decision has been
made without involving them. Due to this, they needs to work with northern people who does not
even know English. These people also needs to work with young people where they feel isolated.
It create different problem due to which these people does not allow them for purpose of working
with efficiency. It cause stress among people and they needs to work with people who does not
know English. There are different problem occur in this case study related to culture which are
mentioned below:
Language problem: In this case study, one of problem arise is related to language as
people of Burnley are speaking English language and they needs to work with people who does
not know their language (Jancovich, and Stevenson, 2019). It does not allow them to
communicate effectively due to which employees feel isolated and disconnected with others. It
create cause of stress for organisation and also create impact over productivity of employees.
Culture problem: There is also problem occur in organisation related to culture as
employees of different culture work together. Their habits are different from others which create
problem for them (Dunphy and March, 2019). It does not allow them to collaborate for efforts
and also divert their focus from attainment of goals to conflicts. It also cause problem among
staff members and create negative working environment among organisation.
Stress among employees: There is also situation of stress occur among employees as
management of company does not involved employees among decision making process. In this
case study, board of trustees has made decision for staff members of Burnley that does not allow
them for purpose of collaborating with other staff. It create problem for communication among
staff members due to which delay occur in decision making. An employees while facing work
pressure require emotional support from other members and staff members does not get support
from other employees due to which stress can be more serious.

Negative working environment: Due to decision of board of trustees, staff members
needs to shift from one centre to another. It create negative working environment in organisation
as employees does not adjust with another employees. It create conflict among members due to
which employees are commenting over other employees.
Role of stakeholders for influencing organisation culture:
There are different types of stakeholders of business like government, investors,
employees, suppliers, competitors. All these play important role in business and also create
impact over business operation. Stakeholders play important role in development of culture of an
organisation. Culture is one of important aspect which create impact over performance of
organisation in various manner. For instance, management and ownership of organisation create
impact over business organisation in serious manner (Gupta, 2021). They create organisation
structure in company in which roles and responsibility of different members is clearly defined.
Communication among members of company are also depended on organisation structure of
company. Organisation structure in which different members can freely communicate helps them
for purpose of accepting differences and also include in others members in effective manner. So,
it is responsibility of ownership and management of company to develop a structure which allow
employees to accept differences and also helps employees to be more involved with each other.
In this case study, board members of company has made decision for one of their centre which is
facing continuous loss in market. It also create dissatisfaction among staff members and does not
allow them to accept cultural change.
Cultural theories:
Handys model for organisation culture:
It is one of model that was introduced by Charles handy in the year 1932 in Ireland who
is known philosopher and also specialised in field of organisation culture. According to this
culture, there are four type of culture in an organisation like power culture, task culture, role
culture and task culture (Niblock, 2018). This theory helps business to accept cultural differences
as employees work in an organisation are of different culture. Explanation of different types of
culture in context of case study is mentioned below:
Power culture: It is a culture in which power of an organisation is centred in few hands
and only these people are authorized to make decisions. It provide special privileges to a person
and is also important for a person in order to make important decisions. These people delegate

their responsibility to employees. In this types of culture employees needs to strictly follow their
roles and responsibility.
Task Culture: It is one of culture in which team in an organisation are formed in order to
complete task or for solving problem in business. In this types of culture people with similar
interest as well as specialisation come together in order to develop team.
Person Culture: It is a culture that provide more important to employees that will
increase satisfaction of employees. It is a culture in which individual worked in company are
more concerned for self instead of their own (Rath and Pattanayak, 2018).
Role Culture: It is also a culture in which employees delegate their roles as well as
responsibility according to their specialisation, interest and qualification in order to get best out
of them. It allow employees to do best thing they can do in business and also make employees
more willing to accept challenges.
Discussion of role of health care manager with consideration to the factor presented in case study
Health care managers of an organisation have proper organisational, financial and legal
knowledge that reflect ways in which nurses m health care providers can do their in effective and
efficient manner within environment where health care policies and laws are changing on
continuous basis. There are different types of roles and responsibility to be posses by health care
managers of company in order to solve problem occur in business of charity run family and
community centre, day to day management as well as also managing relationship among
different stakeholders.
Culture management: Culture management is one of important component that create
impact over business in various manner. Culture issues occur in business as employees in an
organisation are of different culture which create problem among them. It also leads to situation
of conflict among them and also does not allow them to be communicate with other employees
(Robbins and Davidhizar, 2020). Health care managers of an organisation helps them in this
situation by allow them to be involved. They ensure proper training and development in
organisation in order to accept employees who belongs from different language.
Communicating with employees: Communication is another important thing in
organisation which allow management of company to share their views to employees and also
helps them to listen to views of employees related to specific things. Health care Manager in an
organisation ensure that there should be proper communication among members of company. It

allow them to include employees of company in decision making process and also helps them to
understand response of employees for specific decision in company.
Understanding problem faced by employees: It is also important for an organisation to
understand problem of employees as it allow them for purpose of getting acceptance of
employees for a decision. It also works over satisfaction level of employees which is essential for
a health care managers to retain employees for long term.
Managing day to day work: Health care managers of company also needs to manage
day to day work of organization that is essential in order to run success business. It is important
fro business as it allow them to carry out operation in effective manner without getting much
confusion in business.
Managing relationship among stakeholder: Health care managers also needs to
manage relationship of business with different stakeholders. There are different stakeholder of
business like competitors, suppliers, investors, employees and government (Salmén, 2018). All
these stakeholders has their expectation with business and health care managers make efforts in
order to fulfil these expectations of stakeholders.
All these roles and responsibility allow health care manager to manage operation of
company in effective manner and also promote organisation culture in organisation in effective
manner. It helps them to ensure free flow of communication and allow employees to work
without any hesitation. It also important for organisation as it will improve job satisfaction of
employees which allow employees to be accept changes. It also helps company to understand
problem and stress faced by employees and allow them to work freely by accepting culture
differences.
Recommendation
From above mentioned discussion, it can be recommended to company that they should
be use matrix organisation structure in their organisation as it helps them to overcome of issues
presented in company. It allow employees of charity run family and community centre to
collaborate with different other centre members and accept them as part of organisation. It will
helps them to improve collaboration that allow employees to work with full efficiency. It is also
important for business to develop skills in organisation and also allow them to ensure free flow
of communication with other employees. One of role of this type of organisation culture into
allow manager to divide different project for managers. It allow employees to communicate on

regular basis that allow them to understand detailing of progress of project and also helps them to
over come of misconception. It allow charity organisation centre to overcome of language barrier
and develop positive environment where no employees are allowed to comment over other
employees.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that organisation structure in
one of component for business as it define clear roles and responsibility of members who work in
an organisation. It allow them to understand who is responsible to whom. It create impact over
working environment of company and also allow them to accept changes. If there is free flow of
communication and management of company think about employees, it will allow them to accept
changes in business. It is also important for them to overcome of cultural and language barriers
and allow employees to different culture to work together for attainment of goals and objectives.
There are different types of roles and responsibility play by managers of company that allow
them to manage operation of company and also to handle responsibility in business.
