INTRODUCTIONHuman resource development is a term which shows the overall growth and upliftment ofindividual personality by implementing various practices or programmes because humans areone of major assets for every enterprise. In fact improvement of employees is very muchessential because they are obliged with numerous of roles and responsibilities (Hendry, 2012).Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology firm which designs electronics items withspecial and totally unique features. Thus, organization hardware products consist of iPhonesmartphone, iPad tablet, mac personal computer and these goods are popularize across the worldbecause of their speciality which attract number of domestic as well as foreign clients. Thisassignment is going to focussed on management of human resource by appointing new HRmanager and try to consider all the essential elements which plays a very eminent role indevelopment of personnel resource (Bratton and Gold, 2012). Along with this, report includesvarious methods of recruiting employees by highlighting its strength and weakness. Furthermore,it also shows the role of HRM practices for raising productivity of an enterprise and its benefitsfor both employee or employer. At the end of this assignment learner also get updated aboutvarious acts enacted by legal bodies for protecting employees at workplace. TASK 1P1 Purpose and functions of HRM applied to workforce planningApple Inc. is a very largest enterprise by having its stores in almost 22 countries witharound 116000 full time employees which shows that this firm is having team of millions ofworkers. Therefore it is not easy to control or regulate labours of referred organization as itrequires management team for managing all the activities and entire association which areexpanded over the seas. Human resource manager plays a very eminent role in enhancing theknowledge and skills of employees so that they can perform their job role in a better way.Workforce planning is a cluster of procedures which an enterprise may implement formaintaining the efficiency of employees and management as well ensuring that long term goalsmay achieved in a given time frame (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014). Basically apple is a biggestorganization due to which HR manager having number of responsibilities with various purposeand performing few essential functions for improving overall personality of workers. Hence main purpose of HR manager while planning for workforce are stated below:- 1

Coordination:- One of a major motive of HR is to bring cooperation betweenemployees working within enterprise for attaining similar goals of a company in aminimum duration. In fact it is essential because coordination helps in maintainingfriendly relations between staff members. Productivity maximization:- Another objectives is to motivate employees with the helpof various programmes and sessions because if workers get encourage toward their jobrole then productivity of an enterprise automatically get increased.Management of human resource:- Employees are one of essential asset for entireassociation because most of the activities are regulated and controlled by them only.Therefore HR manager is liable to ensure that labours which are working in a companyis properly managed and controlled so that they get attentive towards personal andprofessional targets. Resolve disputes of employees:- When number of employees working in an team thenchances of conflicts may emerges in larger extent due to differentiate in opinions.Therefore management team is liable to remove contentions between employees andemployer by making clearing necessary points (Daley, 2012). These above points are few major purpose and objectives of HR manager of apple butapart from this they also accomplish some essential functions which is assigned by higherauthority. Thus various functions are mentioned below:- Recruitment and selection:- As per this element one of a major and initial role is to hirenew and deserving candidates to fill the vacant position of an enterprise. Authority ofApple company is going to ensure that maximum employee get hired for increasing theirproductivity and profits.Job assigning:- They are also liable for assigning job to newly hired candidate as pertheir skills and talents. Orientation:- After selection process its time for induction programme in which newlyappoint employees are trying to involving with existing one for getting aware aboutsurrounding of a company. Managing employee relations:- Another function which is played by HR team is tocreatea healthy relations between supervisor and subordinates by exchanging thoughtswith others. 2
