INTRODUCTIONHuman resource management can be referred as the process of recruitment, selection,including the hiring of the best workforce in the organization who can contribute effectively inorder op achieve the task of the organization. This human resource department responsible forcreating policing in the organization govern by the government of the country. This assessmentof human resource management is based on the Chocolate presence company, which is rapidlyexpanded its business in the North Yorkshire and provide the tailor made chocolate basedgreetings and presents across the UK. This report will include the different functions and purposeof the HRM in given company. Strength and weakness of the current selection method appliedby the company also going to be explained. Benefit of employee relation for both employees andemployers also going to be described in the chocolate presence company. Effectiveness of theHRM practices in the company will be included and hoe these practices affect and influence thedecision-making of the HR in the company will be explained with the help of this report.Different employee legislation like health and safety act, equality act and many more will beincluded and how these elements affect the decision-making of HR managers in the companywill be defined. Lastly different HRM practices will be defined with the help of this report ofhuman resource management.PART 1 TASK 1HRM practices are adopted by organizations to formulate strategies which will help them ingaining competitive advantage and increasing the efficiency of the organization throughmanaging their employees which in turn also increases the productivity.A) Purpose and Importance of HRM.Purpose of HRM :- The various purposes of HRM involve Planning, Selection, Training anddevelopment etc.(5 Purposes of the Human Resource Department, 2016).Planning :- The HRM department of any organization needs to plan in advance regarding thepersonnel to be employed and its requirement. Chocolate Presence also requires a plan which isintegrated with employees' goals and organizational goals.Recruitment :- The basic purpose of HRM is performing recruitment and selection activities forits employees. Chocolate Presence needs to restructure its recruitment practices recently the

process has proved to become redundant. So the employees need to be hired after carefulevaluation and stricter rules need to be implemented.Training and Development :- This is another very important purpose of HRM activities and isnecessary in preparing the hired employees to perform their duties. At Chocolate Presence,employees need proper training as the present operations are proving to lack in certain aspects.They need to prepare employees to perform present duties and also be able to undertake higherjobs.Performance Appraisal :- Regular incentives are given to employees after their performanceevaluation. At Chocolate Presence, the employees are regularly evaluated on the basis of thework performed by them, and then they are given monetary or non monetary incentives.Importance of HRM :-Maintaining Work Life Balance :- At every organization, there should be proper balancebetween the employees and the management of the company. At Chocolate Presence; HRM aimsto achieve satisfied employees working with them so that they can enhance the innovation andprovide better services.Increase employee retention :- HRM practices helps in utilization of all the human resourcesavailable in the organization so that long term objectives can be fulfilled. For this a motivatedemployee personnel is necessary. Chocolate Presence adopts various employee appraisaltechniques to reduce the employee turnover.Attain Sustainability in the market :- HRM is also important as it helps in maintaining a securedposition of the organization in the present market scenario (Chang and Chin, 2018). Chocolatepresence can achieve this only by giving excellent results and wok on the falling quality of someof its products thus improving both efficiency and effectiveness.Performance Evaluation :- At Chocolate Presence, the performance of employees is regularlyevaluated so that the deserving employees can be sufficiently rewarded. This also acts as amotivational process for other employees who consider their colleagues as role models.B) Strength and weakness of Current Selection Process.At present, the selection process of Chocolate presence involves clearing of a particulartest originated by them which includes evaluation of English literature and QuantitativeAnalysis. Candidates are required to score 50% in this test before they are shortlisted for theinterview process after careful examination of the references provided by them. The current
