selection process of Chocolate Presence has both strength and weakness and this can be
described in following points :-
Strengths of the Current selection procedure :-
Strong Evaluation Criteria :- The company at present evaluates both the qualitative and
quantitative aspect of employees before short-listing them. This helps the HR department in
sorting out those individuals who have a good command over their language which ensures no
grammatical errors in their cards ad quantitative skills help in maintaining production process.
Reference :- The current practice of thorough examination of the reference given by the
candidate helps the company in ensuring the genuineness of the candidate and only after they
have proven to be satisfactory, they are shortlisted for interview further. (Armstrong, Landers
and Collmus, 2016)
Weakness of the Current selection procedure :-

duration of fifteen minutes. This is a very limited time in ascertaining whether the candidate is
suitable for the job that he is required to perform.
Criteria of Job Selection :- The different departments of Chocolate Presence have different
requirements. For e.g. :- a person working in production department does not need to be
proficient in language. Hence, the selection criteria needs to be improvised so that different
departments can hire the personnel as per their requirements.
C) Potential improvement methods for the present selection process.
Since there is increase in the present employee turnover ratio and the number of
employees failing there probationary period is increasing; there is surely something wrong with
the present selection process and it needs to be changed. Chocolate Presence aims to retain the
quality level of its product to the earlier stage and hence it should adopt some major changes in
its selection process so that the objectives can be achieved with efficiency and effectiveness.
(Banks and et.al., 2019)
The potential improvements that can be incorporated are :-
Increased number of levels in the Selection procedure :- The selection procedure should not
be limited to clearing a simple test. Further, the interview time is very short of only 15 minutes
that to informal in nature. The Chocolate Presence company can increase the levels in the
procedure by introducing more rounds. For e.g. :- A brainstorming activity can be included in the
