INTRODUCTIONEvery organisation needs human resource manager to run the organisation activitiessufficiently. In order to sustain the business enterprise for the longer period the human resourceactivities needs to be done in well and specific manner. The human resource manager plays hisrole as backbone to the corporation. They provide most significant direction to their keyemployees so they can complete the task in effective and efficient manner. The main object ofthe human resource manager is to utilise the available resources of the company and to achievethe predetermined goal of the company. Being the human resource manager of the Iceland foodretailer company the main role is to satisfied the need of the customer by fulfilling theexpectation of buyers. The Iceland is a retail store deals with food product it has many retailstore in the UK. They provide easy and fast service to their customers. In this report it also hasbeen addressed to have induction of new HR with the objective to build confidence about the selfand the organisation. With the help of induction programmes the business enterprise leads tosuccess. They are the crucial elements of the firm they need to be effectively trained for theachievement of goal of the organisation.TASK 1Description on compare and contrast different organisational structure and it effects on theperformance of the business.The organisational structure define the allocation of task and responsibilities to theemployees and their work and how they should work with each other. The type of theorganisation structure is depends upon the shape of the business enterprise (Mondy andMartocchio, 2016). A firm need to be efficient, flexible and innovative so that it can achieve themaximum market share of the business. With the help of type of structure in the organisation theauthorities and responsibilities is delegated to the employees. There are various type oforganisational structure such are-Functional structure- The meaning of this structure is to division of work according tothe speciality of the person in such particular department. The work is also given on that basisonly. A person can be able to perform within business enterprise if he is capable of performingsuch particular task (Mathis and et.al., 2016).1

Matrix structure- The individual has to inform more than two or three persons at a timeabout the completion of his task. Generally in this structure person have two or three supervisorsat the same time.Divisional structure- The divisional structure means whole organisation is divided intothe subunits to carry the function according to their departmentalization (Dias, 2016). Alldivision has it persona resources and function. Each department has one head manager. Line organisational structure- It shows the flow of relation between the organisation.They involve in the primary activities of the organisation. In these authorities follows the chainof command. It is very helpful in making decision.Hybrid organisational structure- Hybrid organisational structure means a framework inwhich more than two organisation can be settled (Berman and et.al., 2015). It gives flexibility tothe organisation to perform the task in the more effective and efficient manner. It is very helpfulfor the small business enterprise where daily transaction has to be maintain.There are following type to organisational culture are as-Task culture- The term task culture means completion of task in a particular time for theachievement of the organisational objective. In this a project is assign for a given time which hasto be competed within such stipulated time (Stone and et.al., 2015).Role culture- The term role culture mean each individual is assigned one particular roletowards the functioning of the firm activities. According to such role authorities as well asresponsibility is also delegated. Due to this employer can focus on his particular role in theorganisation.Impact of this on business performanceThese both are act as backbone to the functioning of the organisation. It has both kind of impactlike negative and positive on the performance of organisation. With the help of this organisationcan divide the function and can achieve the task effectively and efficiently (Beadles and et.al.,2015). The culture as well structure both have some disadvantage in regard to the functioning ofthe activities of business enterprise. The culture is too much complex than decision-makingprocess will be slow.2

Description on factor which influenced individual behaviour at work.The business enterprise cannot run its activity by itself. It needs the support of a gooddeal of key personnel who able to achieve common objective of the organisation. Individualbehaviour can be influenced with the innate and environmental factors of the business. In thecase of Iceland many factors are here which have influenced the function of the person in firm.The personality and racial are the two main factor among which largely impact on thefunctioning of the individual (Albrecht and et.al., 2015). The personality is characterized as perthe backgrounds, temperaments and skills. Or the term racial means determination of differentvalues and way of thinking of each individual. The position the worker hold in the organisationalso have great impact on the activities of the firm. There are some other factors are as-Work culture- The organisation environment should be positive one. The rules and regulationshould be the same for each individual. There should be transparency in the functioning of theorganisational activities (Greene, Brush and Brown, 2015). Job responsibilities- The work should be given as per the performance of the employees.Overburden leads to major drawback for firm activities. Workers should motivated to upgradetheir skill from time to time.Effective communication- The flow of communication in the organisation should be well andeffective (Greene, Brus and Brown, 2015). The barriers to effective communication leads toemployees felt let out or they lost their interest in the work.Relationship at work- To have some friend at the work place is really good thing. The activitiesshould not be performed in the manner of isolation. Not allowing employees to talk with oneanother leads to stress at work place.Contribution of human resource manager to achieve firm objective.Human resource management is the crucial part of the organisational function. It playsmain role in the functioning of the business objective. The human resource manager are theimportant tool for the achievement of organisational objective. It helps the organisation in theidentifying the need of the employees and select the capable employee for the functioning of thebusiness enterprise. They work as placing the right person at the right place so business activitiescan be done in effective and efficient manner (Albrecht and et.al., 2015). They take various stepsin increasing the motivation level of the workers so the performance of employees need to beimprovised. They play main role in the improvement productivity and profitability of the firm.3

They perform the work in relation to the employees as providing them good training, induction,recruitment, job etc. the main aim is to deliver the product and services to the customer whichcan satisfy he expectation of the customer. The Iceland is mainly focused on the quality ofproduct and service which is avail in the market (Mondy and Martocchio, 2016). The humanresource manager of Iceland is taking various initiative in promoting the success of the businessenterprise. They also deal in the work relate to the wages and salary. They serve themselves askey element who is taking efforts in making evaluation of each individual performance. Bytaking considering the following element the goodwill and reputation of the company can beenhanced. They manage the work force unit of the organisation. They also try to reduce theunnecessary cost to their product and take step in term of improving the goodwill of businessenterprise.Role and Responsibilities of line manager in HR.The line manager are this manger who are appointed at the high level of the authority inthe organisation. The individual and team of the organisation can directly report to the linemanager. They are the person who create the link between top level manager and the staff of theorganisation. They take various initiative in relation to improve the performance of theyemployee by making time to time evaluation (Beadles and et.al., 2015). The main role is tomaintain the healthy relation between the various department in the business enterprise. TheIceland organisation is work as monitoring the employees that how they have to perform thework. In addition to this in the context of the firm named Iceland the line manager have variousresponsibilities such are- Maintain healthy relationship- The line manager of Iceland is taking various efforts inorder to improve the relation between the top level manager workers and workers employed atlower level. By developing the effective term between them the communication process leads toimprovised (Head and Alford, 2015). Performance appraisal- the worker and staff performance level is managed and noticedby the line mangers. The implementation also taken by the manager only. The workers are ratedby them as per their performance in the business enterprise. Disciplinary employees- The work should be done in the disciplinary manner. It can bepossible when managers set out the expectation for their team (Abdullah and Zulkifli, 2015).This term can bring maximum contribution to the organisation. 4
