1. Define a data warehouse.
It refers as the type of data management system, which is usually developed to enable and cooperate the
business intelligence. This system is solely intended to lay out the queries and also stored the huge
amount of historical data (Dehdouh, Boussaid and Bentayeb, 2020). Warehousing makes the data
mining efficient and possible, which helps the businesses to look into the data pattern, it provides
forward path, so that businesses makes the efficient decision in order to maximize the sales and profit.

3. List four different databases that can be used to build a data warehouse. What are the features of
each?
1. Oracle database: It gives the data warehousing and analytics through which the businesses can
easily look into the data, that helps in efficient decision making process. Its features are scalability
and efficient performance, backup, security. It gives the availability of the data when there is
downtime or failures.
SQL: For designing the data warehouse, by using the SQL components to implement the design for
warehouse. Its features are It keeps the computing process separate from the storage, it can also used
to scaling up and down the computations (Al Faris and Nugroho, 2018).
2. Cloud database: It manage the services in a public cloud which processed the business
intelligence and analytics, because it is found that data present in cloud data warehouse are
present in structured form. Its features are it offers the flexibility is SQL query, it offers the
complete data extraction.
3. NO SQL database: It enables to consider the various approaches for warehousing the data, which
can be from the multidimensional data. Its features are as it stores the data in a various models
such as in JSON, BSON, it gives the data in structured form.
4. Describe the purpose of a database design document.
Main purpose of database design document is that it efficiently maps the logical data mode to targets the
DBMS to accounts the system performance and its requirements. It helps in transforming the conceptual
data model. Documentation provides the functional and also nonfunctional utilization of the records,
tables and other key considerations. Thus it is essential to document to fulfill the several needs, such as
it enables the common language among the businesses and IT personnel, with this they can easily
understand the flow chart that leads in making decision.
