INTRODUCTION
Through the process of organisation behaviour an individuals behaviour is studied that how they
behave in a group. It is done to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation. The
basic idea behind the organisation behaviour is to use the basic principles in the organisation so
that the over all performance of the individual can be improved(Moussaïd,Helbing and
Theraulaz,2011). The impact of an individual on the business environment is studied under the
organisational behaviour study. Individuals are motivated to perform well by using different
motivation techniques so that they work with their full dedication. The following report will tell
how the organisation structure has impact on the overall growth of the organisation.
Task 1
Lo1 Compare and contrast different organisation structure and culture:
By organisational structure it refers to the culture that is followed in any organisation. A good
organisational structure motivates the employees to work effectively and for this different
motivation tools are followed by the different mangers and leaders of the organisation. In any
organisation culture proper hierarchy is followed from top to bottom and different employee at
different level has his contribution in the organisation working. In an organisation the culture of
motivation,encouragement to be more innovative and believe of doing not discussion is
developed giving rewards to the employees which may be monitory or non monitory in nature.
The structure of the organisation can be understood under different heads:
1.Functional structure: according to this the whole organisation is divided into different
functions. As there are various different functions which are carried out in the organisation each
function has different department and different department head(Yuan and Woodman,2010).
Each department head of Enterprise rent a car work towards maintaining coordination among
different departments.
2.Geographical structure: this structure is followed in the big organisation in order to meet the
demands of people at different area. In order to increase he total sales there is a need to have
direct contact with the market and therefore regional and area distribution is done to have
effective planning and controlling
3.Matrix structure: it is more of a traditional structure. Through this structure flexibility is
maintained in the organisation. In this communication take place in all the directions vertical

horizontal and diagonal also. Through this structure it is possible that an individual may face
problem of unity in command as a same person receives command from different individuals
which may lead to confusion.
1.2 Impact of organisational structure and culture on the performance of the business
Organisational structure facilitates effective management in the organisation. Through this
effective leadership and management skills are developed in the organisation which help in
smooth functioning of the of the organisation and help in increasing the growth rate of any
business(Normane,2010). Through the process of organisation structure whole organisation is
divided into different department which help in the elimination of confusion that who is
accountable to whom. Everyone is clear with their duties and also the responsibilities are given
accordingly. This also help in maintaining the process of management that is
planning,organising,staffing coordinating and controlling in the organisation. In order to
calculate the growth of City College and Enterprise Rent a Car the performance of the company
is judged. It is studied how the inputs of the organisations are converted into output and what are
its results. Therefore if the company has good organisational structure only than the recurses will
be effectively utilised as a result of better allocation of each resource.
Simple organisation maintains a simple organisation structure so that unity of command and easy
flow of information in the organisation can be maintained. Also through this accountability and
responsibilities of an individuals are made clear which helps in maintaining control in the
organisation. Future expansion and growth depends so much on the structure of the organisation
as an effective structure helps in keeping control over the different cost of the organisation by the
effective controlling process(Gibson and Lawrence,2011). Also it helps in giving more
satisfaction to the customers by fulfilling their demands and also by providing good customer
services.
1.3 Factors that influence individual behaviour at work
There are various factors which influence individual behaviour at work. These factors can be
social personal or biological. They can be further studied under different heads as following:
1.Personal Attitude- It is a basic factor that has so much of influence on the individual behaviour
at work. It is how an individual react to different situations. It is very important for all in the
business to continue with positive attitude as the business environment is never constant and
