5HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENTChapter 1: Introduction 1.0 IntroductionLeadership is the most important factor in the management of any organization. Itfacilitates in maximizing organizational efficiency and achieving overall organizational goals.Effective leadership style leads to an opportunity for the business organization towards achievingexcellence both in terms of employee efficiencies as well as overall organizational efficiency(Dabke, 2016). Moreover, effective leaders can lead to high level of employee motivation,dedication, inspiration and management with the business organizations. Such leaders set clearorganizational vision and direct the employees towards achieving that vision for leadingorganizational success. However, effectiveness of leadership is always affected with differentkinds of social factors, staff behavior, circumstantial factor, decision making and differingviewpoints of different stakeholders (Paustian-Underdahl et al., 2014). This research proposalwill be concerned with the investigation of leadership effectiveness in Nature Landscapes. Theresearch proposal will frame effective research objectives and research questions for gatheringauthentic information about the research topic. Apart from that, the research proposal will alsoselect appropriate research methodologies for gathering most accurate research information. 1.2 Research ContextDiffering organizational environment can have differing affects on the effectiveness levelof leadership within an organization. The legacy of past leadership, the behaviors and values ofthe employees and other management staffs can highly impact on the leadership effectiveness.Moreover, support from the supervisors, well liked by the co-workers and collaborativerelationship with the colleagues can lead to high level of effectiveness in leadership

In this way, such leaders can better encourage theirsubordinates towards leading high level of work performance. This research proposal will be highlighting on the context of investigating theeffectiveness level of leadership in Nature Landscapes. Moreover, the final research will evaluatedifferent factors affecting the leadership effectiveness in Nature Landscapes. This research studywill particularly add value in enhancing the leadership effectiveness in an organization.Moreover, the assessment of the factors associated with leadership effectiveness would broadenthe area of leadership study. In this way, this research study will help in saving the time, moneyand managerial efforts of avoiding calamitous negative impacts on reputation and employeeengagement levels. 1.3 Organizational BackgroundNature Landscape is a popular landscaping company having a capable team of landscapearchitects, horticulturists, project managers, engineers and craftsmen. The organization has 30years of industry experience in the field of delivering high quality and highly reliablelandscaping service to the clients. The gardens designed by the employees usually have livingpiece of arts, resplendent of living colors and lush foliage, rejuvenating and inspiration to weary(Nature Landscapes, 2018). Moreover, the organization actualizes the creative innovation in alllandscape design, implementations and creations. The role of the leaders in this organization is tofoster creative and unique ideas among the employees for designing stunning landscape.

7HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT1.4 Problem IdentificationWith increasing numbers of competitors in the market of landscape designing, NatureLandscape is facing fierce competition from the rival organizations. In such situation, theorganization needs to create more innovative and creative design of landscape for standingunique in market and bearing the fierce market competition. However, the contemporary leadersof the organization are being failed to encourage the employees much towards leading high levelof creativity in landscape designing (Edelman & van Knippenberg, 2017). Furthermore,indifferent and non-cooperative behavior of the staffs are also hindering the effectiveness ofleadership this organization. Most importantly, the inability of the leaders towards delegatingsome authority on the employees hampers the ultimate enthusiasm level and creativity level ofthe employees (Fan et al., 2014). In this way, ineffective leadership is hampering the overallemployee performance, their engagement level and their creative abilities of the employees inNature Landscape leading to lack of competitive edge in the market. 1.5 Research AimThe research is aimed at conducting a detailed investigation of the impact of improvingleadership effectiveness at Nature Landscapes in Singapore.1.6 Research Objectives To critically review the implication of leadership on the social and circumstantial factorsTo assess the impact of leadership on staff and organizational behaviors with reference tojoint effort in Nature LandscapeTo examine the issues in leaders’ characteristics hampering the effectiveness ofleadership in Nature Landscape
