INTRODUCTION The below report showcases the important aspects of organisational behaviour for good performance.Itdemonstratestherelevantimportanceoftheaspectofanorganisational behaviour in a workplace. Along with it, the report explores the recommendations for an organisation's efficiency in context of Starbucks. It understands and appraises the importance of a variety of behaviours and their theories and concepts within a workplace, and suggests the important solutions to the problems that occurs within a workplace with the application of various organisational behaviour theories and concepts. The aim of this report is to identify the importance of leadership and teamwork and how they impact the efficiency of an organisation and contribute in it. LEADERSHIP: Leadership is important for an organisation's growth. In Starbucks, it is one of the most important functions of management that contributes in achieving organisational goals and maximising efficiency. For an organisation such as Starbucks it is necessary to have a leader that set goals, initiates action, motivates its team, provides proper guidance, creates confidence and a well co-ordinated work environment, builds morale, etc. A leader sets visions and goals and achieves them with the help of its team and management. He seeks to achieve perfection in the organisation and ensures that everything is working as per his decisions and leadership skills. It is important for a leader to have the necessary set of skills which while the performance of his actions can bring required and satisfactory results. (Bedarkar and Pandita, 2014) The skills required for and effective leadership or and efficient leader Communication:Communication plays a vital role when its comes to the efficiency of a leader. A leader needs to determine the value of his employees and how the set environment is operating under his command. Having a good communication skill will help the leader to understand the wants and requirements of his team and what can be done do make the environment of an organisation better and fair to achieve its goals and objectives.(Scott, Mannion et.al., 2018) 1
Motivation:Motivation is another important aspect that makes a leader more inspiring and growth oriented. A leader when an organisation is lacking inspiration needs to motivate the team. He tends to find ways and incorporates them as well to make the organisations employees more capable and potent as per the requirements of set goals and objectives. Delegation:It is important for a leader to understand the importance of delegating the tasks. If the leader tries to do most of the tasks by himself then he might suffer with lack of capability and work pressure as well. A good leader have good delegating skills in which he assigns the tasks to the capable managers and employees.(Schyns, 2015) Creativity:It is important for a leader to be creative. The creativity skills of a leader will ensure that the leader is able to find efficient approaches when something requires his attention. Along with it, the leader's creativity skills will make him find solutions with different aspects within an organisation. Feedback:Feedback is necessary for any leadership to determine the value of a leader's capabilities and what improvements might be needed in the future when the same approachis going to be used. With feedback a leader can constantly improve himself and along with him the organisation will improve as well. Also, feedback helps the employees to respect their leader. Different leadership theories and concepts and its importance within Starbucks: Trait theory:The trait theory discusses a number of traits that leads to a successful leadership. These traits are a good personality, maturity, initiative, flexibility, intellectual ability, self-confidence, being responsible and having a willingness to accept the same, fairness in judgement etc. Later these traits and skills are further classified by Stogdill as adaptability, ambition, decision, energy, persistence, dominance, stress tolerance, social skills, etc. In trait theory, some specified traits such as the cognitive abilities, self-esteem, energy etc. are related to the behaviour of leadership yet the theory is observed as being faulty. This will leave a cooperation with the overall team members and the leader as well and the next time when they have to go for a task the team will do it willingly without facing any hurdles.
