INTRODUCTIONManaging change is increasing professionalising in organisation which also realising thatthese are too risky to leave the implementation of best idea. Most of the companies are focusingto implement best idea so that they can retain in market for a long period of time. For this, thereare several ways in these organisation can manage their business function for example,maintaining good ambiance at workplace, coordinating with all employees in order toaccomplish pre-determined goals and objectives etc. Nowadays, it is also become important fororganisation to adopt colour-coded waste segregation system which helps in identifying waste inentity (Carroll and Buchholtz, 2014). In this assignment, KGC ltd company is taken whose aim isto minimise the wastage of resources which are producing by other departments. In this report,how organisation will ensure about hazardous clinical waste which include health and safety atworkplace. Further, different tools and techniques has been used where investigator analyse thedata in proper manner. TASK 1P1 Aims and objective Project Title:IMPROVING SAFETY AT KGC LTD – CLINICAL WASTE DISPOSALPurpose:On 2014-year review, the trust had a few major faults regarding the way of gathering,disposal and storage of the clinical material were handled. The trust purpose is to see if the staffis properly trained and if we can improve the way they manage the procedure. Overview NW Thames Regional Genetics Laboratory provides a comprehensive genetics servicesto a population of approximately 3.6 million in North West London, Hertfordshire andBedfordshire.The trust has a legal duty under The Environmental Protection Act (EPA) 1990 to ensurethat all waste generated through its activities are responsible to managed and a safe system ofwork is in place for the collection, storage, handling and transportation of waste from point ofsource to final place of disposal. (Waste management policy, Version 1.1, The North-West1
London Hospitals, NHS TRUST). All clinical waste handling and disposal procedure mustcomply with following regulation which are governed by several authorities. Controlled Waste Regulation 2012.Hazardous Waste Directive 2011.Environmental protection act 1990. Clinical waste should be stored securely which will also prevent extra utilisation ofresources, harm to environment or human health. Storage waste must be secure and it should bekept away from public area. Aims:To critically assess the collection and disposal operations for clinical waste to identifyfactors, which contribute to performance and technical efficiency.Objectives:To critically assess clinical waste operations by trust staff, including volumes/types ofmaterials arising and current disposal routes.To classify and evaluate the way the trust is trained.To make recommendations to improve the operational effectiveness of trust staff.The scope of the project is identifying through a staff questionnaire during 4 weeks, whythe errors happen in the trust.The risk of the project is that the trust staff may not be on the same path as you are andwill not help you with by filling or bringing the questionnaire on time. The financialmanager may not approve with the cost of the project.P2 Project management planProject management plan is a formal and approved document which provide guide toemployees in execution of plans. In this project manager is responsible to create appropriateplans and strategies with the help of key stakeholders (Connor and et. al., 2014). These projectshould be agreed and approved by the higher authority of KGC Ltd. Creation of projectmanagement plan are start with phases and these are finalised at the end by expertise. There arefive major components which must be included the plans so that these can be implemented inadequate manner.
