Introduction
Business process management is the growing methodology that is being used by the
businesses all over the world. It is mainly used for reengineering the present business models
and analyse the issues faced by the processes. It is the methodology by which any company
creates, analyses and then edits any predictable process that make up the main core of the
business. This report intends to discuss the processes at Maroondah Hospital General Medical
Process and analyse the major issues faced by the business. The illustration of the business
processes is provided with the help of BPMN diagrams.
Problems, issues and opportunities of present process
In the present business model of the organisation, there are several issues and
problems that are required to be solved for ensuring the positive growth of the hospital and
provide the patients with the best healthcare facilities. The two most crucial issues of the
medical facility is the unavailability of the required physicians and the inability of the
pathology department to store the patient test results in the electronic health data of the
patients. The unavailability of the appropriate physicians in the hospital has led to the
increase of the unwilling patients to visit the hospital and visit any other hospital (Lehmann et
al. 2015). The financial sustainability of employment models would act out over the coming
years as the hospitals faces the alterations in revenues. Moreover, for a variety of reasons,
that includes the fact that there is high probability that there would be major shortages of the
physicians in several markets, the doctors might retain the significant market power in the
connection with the relationships with hospitals and any other entity (Xu et al. 2014). It has
been considered that this particular aspect would be significantly market dependent. The
process of solving this particular issue is the hiring of skilled physicians in the hospital for
