INTRODUCTION
At present era health of people is very vital in every nation. As people of every country is
very much contributing in the development of a nation hence having a good and healthy life is
necessary. If the people are suffering from various diseases then it become a challenge for a
nation as well. Therefore, it become very necessary to study about the health and care of people
as because it is a very important and critical aspect (Aveyard, 2014). There are many
organisation which is operating various activities and functions related to health and safety of
people in a country. There are numerous factors that are affecting these industries, it has both
positive and negative impact upon the health and care firms.
In this assignment report various factors especially external aspects that are having
impact upon the organisation will be discussed. Different leadership theories has been discussed
to understand the behavioural pattern of people along with that impact of organisation's culture
and structure will also be described here.

Introduction
Organisation is of many kinds, it is having different culture and structure. This has been
understood with the help of an interview that was conducted with one of my colleague who is
working in a different organisation whose structure and culture is entirely different from the one
I am working. This interview helped me to understand various aspect regarding the structure and
culture of different firm operating in health and social care sectors (Dickinson and O'Flynn,
2016).
Main Body
As discussed with my colleague there are different types of organisation such as public,
private and non-profit organisation and charity. As organisations as different their structure and
culture are also very contrast to each other.

Public organisation are one of the type which is wholly owned and controlled by state
and government of a country. Private organisation's control and governing authority does not lies
in government's hand, any individual has the right to owe business independently. Not profit
firms are formed with the mission and vision of using its surplus for welfare of people of society.
Charities are one of the type of NPO where society's welfare and providing people benefits are
main motto.
Different types of organisational structures of VSO firms
Functional structure is a layout where in a very clear manner tasks and functions are to
defined to people in firm and training and development has to be provided by VSO to its
employees so that patients can be treated in appropriate and effective manner (Drummond, and
et. al, 2015).
Matrix structure is another layout which is based on the type of project and activities of
business. It is very helpful as because this will assist in allocating resources in most appropriate
way.
Geographical structure is basically followed by the large firms which is very supportive
as to make big decision and planning along with that controlling can also be done using this
layout. It is also very effective as because this will assist in maintaining a good and healthy
relationship with it employees.
Comparison of organisational structure
On the basis of scale many firms is able to avail benefits, especially large organisation
will get aid and is very helpful for managing people in a firm with support of interpersonal links
and contacts.
Technology is also another basis through which different resources and techniques can be
combined so that effectively goods and services can be created with more innovative and with
new ideas.
On the basis of strategies organisational can be able to differential its structure form
others as strategies and plans plays very important role in carrying out operations and functions
in most effective and in appropriate manner (Holt-Lunstad Smith and Layton, 2010). Strategies
will assist in attaining competitive advantage

Organisational culture is a very important aspect in a firm as because this will help in
carrying out operations and functions in most guided and with a specific code of conduct. As per
the interview conducted with one of the colleague it has been understood that there are different
culture followed in different firms such as-
Power culture
There are some association in which control stays in the hands of very few person. In this
culture, there are no choices accessible, staff individuals from Voluntary administration abroad
need to take after the directions which is given by their prevalent (Kaplan and et. al, 2010).
Role culture
It is culture which helps in giving the parts and duties to the representatives as indicated
by their particulars and capabilities.
Task culture
In this culture, workers of VSO need to shape a group which helps in accomplishing the
objectives and take care of the basic issues which they are confronting.
Person culture
In this culture, people are more worried about the possession. Workers simply go to the
workplace to gain cash and never get appended to it.
Theories of behaviours of individual and groups
Individual behavioural theory
It is a study that is related to the behaviour of people whether being individual or a group.
Motivation is one of the factor that is very essential to be understood in most effective and
appropriate manner. It is very necessary for a firm to consider about employee's level of
motivation. They have to be motivated so that manpower can perform in re appropriate and
desired manner this will lead in attaining organisation as well as individual goals. For this
Maslow's need hierarchy theory is the most suitable approach as in this company can be able to
identify the need and according to that motivation can be availed to employees (Kirmayer and et.
al, 2011). There are five stages of it physiological needs, safety, social, esteem and self
actualization needs.

Tuckman's theory is one of the best theory through which the behaving pattern of a team
can be understood. This is very helpful in concerning upon the various methods through which
the tasks and operations of a team can be handles in a appropriate way.
Impact of firm's structure and culture on delivery of services
Voluntary service overseas follows various structure as per the requirement in the service
delivery to its patients and clients (Kovner and Knickman, 2011). It is very essential for the
company to develop such a culture that can be very motivating and influencing the so that
employees of it will get enthusiasm to perform more appropriately and according to that
customers will also be served in effective way. With the help of proper use of structure and
flexible culture employees can be able to work in desired manner which will assist in obtaining
goals and objectives.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that the there are different structures and culture that are carried out
by various firms as per their scope, size and nature. There are different theories that has to be
taken in consideration so as to influence the behaviour of people in a working places. Also
company need to focus n the structure and culture formation as because it has a great impact
upon employee's performance.

3.1) Concept of leadership in VSO firm
Leadership is one of the major aspect at present era as because to get done through the
employees in an organisation it is very necessary to have a leader to guide them and to influence
manpower in appropriate manner. It is very essential for the staffs of the company to manage all
their works as per the set standards and vision. Management need to avail training to leaders so
that they get better understanding of behaviour that can be a challenge for them (Lilly, Laporte
and Coyte, 2010). As handling employees is not an easy task they have to be guided as per their
behaving pattern. It is very essential to be self confident and self motivated as because this will
help in making others do work appropriately. Different leadership style also has to be adapted as
because this will assist management in making employees work effectively.

3.2) Influence of leadership on effectiveness of health and social care
Leadership has a great impact upon the the effectiveness on the services and operations of
health and social care firms. According to the situation it is very essential for organisation to
develop the targets and aims so that proper work can be done and set standards and objectives
can be attained. Manpower has to avail the services as per the needs and wants of consumers this
will help in providing effective benefits to clients and firm will also able to attain its goals
(Reeves and et. al, 2011).
3.3) Evaluate the leadership contributions in health and care firm
Leadership is having exceptionally essential part in health and care industry. They ensure
that supporters convey administrations to their patients in appropriate way. Leaders contribute
their aptitudes and information to take care of the issue emerges in well-being and social care
areas. They convey new developments and take activities to bring something new so exercises
should be possible in more simple way. Leadership style which the company will adapt has to be
very supportive so that they can be able to make appropriate decision and planning (Tew and et.
al, 2012). Democratic leadership style is very effective and is used as most of the organisation as
because this is very helpful in managing the work by employees and to make the manpower do
work in desired and planned way.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
At present era health and social care in very highly influencing the society in a country.
People are very badly getting affected by various health related issues, therefore the need of
these firms has raised in the society. It is very essential for the government of a country to
motivate several firms to serve the people as a health and care organisation. It is very essential to
develop new such firms so that welfare to the society can be availed to people. As to effectively
serve the people it is very essential to introduce leaders in an organisation. They will help and
guide the management in attaining firms aims and objectives that has been set at times of
planning. Leaders really plays a very important role in a company and also influence in a very
positive way in an organisation.

CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that health and social care is very important at
present era as because this is formed so as to provide benefits and safety to the people who are
suffering various problems. With the help of the conducted interview it can be analysed that
there are numerous organisation that are working for different purposes and they are having
different culture and structure which is very essential to have as because this will guide in
performing the desired manner as to attain goals and objectives. Need and importance of
