Importance of International Student Exchange in Australia
International student exchange program is the initiative undertaken when the students travel
abroad for getting experience learning. It is considered as the short-term learning program for the
students in order to get the international culture taste into the students. This program usually last
for six months to one year for the students who are pursuing graduation (Miles , et al., 2016).
This is undertaken by the help of the host family giving transition to the life of the student and is
considered to be an intercultural activity that basically focuses on the skill and confidence
enhancement of the students (Jones & Miles, 2017). These programs are important for Australia
as it provide the global perspective to the students and adds to their knowledge and skills in
terms of different country’s culture and getting the international study exposure. Here, the essay
is based on the importance of international student exchange programs and the long-term effects
of the exchange programs on the education of students.
International student exchange programs are life changing experiences for the students as it
provides the students an opportunity to live out of the comfort zone and learn international

into the career and provides the life-enriching experience to the students. It not only provides the
dependence to the students but also provides the language skills providing the opportunity for the

studies of the students and is one of the best times of the students. It thereby provides the

Meierhans, 2016). Also, this is considered as the challenging experience for the students about
oneself and others.
International student exchange thereby provides the insights of the chosen country’s culture and
language just like the local member of that country that provides the skills of understanding the
inter-cultural learning. This has huge educational and personal benefits for the students through
studying abroad. This not only provides the global perspective but also opens the boundaries of
stimulation which collaborated with the new approach of learning which somehow provides the

spreading own culture and religion to other students in the same position.

The long-term effects of travelling and getting educational qualifications through international
student exchange is that it provides the students the ability to develop their diverse skills and also

and also getting the strength for cultivating the business dilemma. This strong professional
