2.1 Problem domain
The paper showcases on the importance of IoT in farming. It is found that presently the
farmers do have an automated system with the help of which they can track the livestock’s and
the crops and as a result wastage in the farm is quite high that lowers the productivity and further
the earnings of the farmers get reduced. The irrigation method that is used is generally done
manually by the farmers and as result equivalent and proper irrigation is not done in the fields
that further damage the crops. For resolving this specific issue, it is decided to focus on smart
farming that is based on IoT.
2.2 Purpose and justification for the topic
The internet of things is selected for faming as it is a capital intensive as well as hi-tech
system that helps in growing food on a very much sustainable way. It is found that smart farming
that is based on the IoT based technology mainly helps in enabling the farmers and the growers
to minimize the waste and increase the productivity. The smart farming system is mainly
developed for successfully monitoring the farmlands that yield crops by using proper sensors and
