INTRODUCTION Motivation is the factor which encourage the employees to perform better in the organisation to achieve the desire goals and objective. The present report is based upon Tesco which is opening a new store which is known as Jack Store. These stores are opened in order to compete with the other store such as Aldi and Lidl. Further this report covers the various aspect which include motivational theories as this help the firm to gain competitive advantage in the well define manner. Motivation and its importance Motivation is the experience of the desire to achieve the desire goal and objective in the given time frame. In other words it refers to the degree of readiness of an organisation to purse some designated goals and implies the determination of the different forces. When the firm take place effective measure to fulfil the need as well as wants of the employees, which provide the sense of belief within the organisation. As the end result, it help in capitalise upon the organisational resources and there intention to achieve the pre determine firm goals in the limited time frame. Here are some of the theories which are explained down below: Theories of Motivation Tesco is a British retailer which provide grocery product and the leader in the market. This is consider as the top management to make decision which help in expanding the market share as well as the revenue for the organisation (Kwilinski and et., al., 2019). Hence this help in developing sustainable business model and help in providing competitive edge present in the business. Companies like ALDI and LIDL has become very popular brand among the customer over the last few year as they keep there price low which usually attracts the customers in the well define manner. By looking after the strategies of these companies retail organisation have announced to launch the of Jack stores in coming future. These store are been used in UK to improve the sales figure of Tesco and to deal with there rivals such as LIDL and ALDI. The management of the firm wants to motivate the employees to increase the sales and profit and bring it to the top business entity in entire UK. For achieving the target company have useAdam’s Equityand Maslow's Motivation theory for the employees of Jack Stores.
Maslow's Need Hierarchy Theory This theory of motivation is one used among the organisation to understand the needs and the factor which motivates the employees to achieve desire goals and objectives. Here is the prime requirement to full fill the prime requirement and move towards the top level management (Hennart, 2019). It is the kind of theory which is help management of Tesco in Jack store as to satisfy the needs and the personal working. This would help in employing the capabilities as well as knowledge to attain the organisational objective for the betterment. The needs belonging to this theory are explained in relation to Jack stores as follows: Physiological Needs:This is consider as basic need such as food shelter and clothings and this should be meant with providing proper salary and bonus which help employees to get motivated. Safety and Security Needs:The safety and security needs are secondary needs which should be fulfilled by the management of Tesco and they should provide medical and other amenities. Social Needs:This level of consisting of needs involve belongingness and love which is consider in while the company organise some get together and festive parties. Esteem Needs:This is consider as the third stage which comes under Mashlow pyramid which include self respect and esteem. Such kinds of employees within the Jack stores which help in reconsigning the hard working employees. Self-Actualisation Needs:It is consider as the last stage of motivation theory which encompasses the needs of the employees for the opportunities of the self development. Such needs with Jack stores can be fulfilled by the providing training and development programmes. Adam’s Equity Theory This is yet most widely use theory to motivate the employees by the company across the globe. It works on the principle of providing the equal and fair treatment to the employees who are working effectively in the organisation. For the company like Tesco this is essential to put the employees to work hard by providing them extra pay for the overtime, bonuses and rewards which help them to motivates the employees to achieve the common goal in the given time frame.
