Organizations across the globe despite their size have their own different culture. a
culture plays important role in an organization. Employees’ retention and sustention highly
depends on this (Helmreich and Merritt 2017). Work cultures tend to changes along with time
and when any external body comes in power in the organization. As an ICT professions, there
can be certain culture issues that can impact, they are:
Anonymity: employees are certainly to fear of new culture as people take time to adjust
in a culture and culture changes tends to make the people less confident.
Rapid changes: There is likeliness that organizations will go through changes when it is
merged with other organization. When two companies merges, two cultures merges as
well this might have positive or negative impact.
Changes: Any forms of changes in organization are the most impactful factors in job role.
Therefore, changes such as working hours, leaves, incentives and power distance may
have severe impact as these are commonly difficult to cope.
Merging and acquisitions are often taken as fear factors for ICT professionals regarding
the future prospects of their career. Change of team, boss, transfers or job roles are
impactful too.

Dilemma is common in every profession which in fact tends to grow after the merger
(Ward 2016). The ICT professional may find them in ethical dilemmas often then required. In

the mentioned scene, McDonald’s framework for ethical decision making is more useful. The
framework states:
Identification of the issues along with collection of information
Finding feasible alternatives
Seeking rightness of each alternatives by the suitable ethical standards
Proposing and testing the possible resolutions
Coming to final choice.
The Mcdonald’s framework was used for the ethical decision making due to following reasons:
The person is the main focus of the framework. In this case ethical dilemma is adjusting
to the changed culture in this specific scenario.
It gives step by step detailed solution on the ways conditions of ethical dilemma can be
handled.
It focuses on all the possibilities of solution along with their ethical dilemma in adjusting
to altered culture.
It stresses on dealing with the situation rather than opposing it. It is an essential aspect for
successful organization as culture in organization keeps changing (Epstein 2018).

Conflict of interest can be defined as a situation where an individual has loyalties or
competing interest. When a person who has two different relationships where he or she is
expected same kind of loyalties it is a situation of conflict of interest (Rahim 2017).
