Introduction
Effective management practices are necessary for every organization. There may be various
issues in an organization such as poor customers satisfaction issue, issue due to the lack of
culture, poor operating and controlling process, poor team working and staffing problems,
ineffective leadership and monitoring problems on the part of leaders, a negative work culture
in the organization and some others (Hollenbeck et al., 2018). In this project, the example of
Imperial Hotel of London has been taken to discuss the problems of management. The
Imperial Hotel is a renowned hotel in London. The hotel is from a well-known brand chain of
hotels at international level and is well managed by some trained staffs. The hotel has 500
bedrooms, bars and restaurants, conference rooms and other facilities. The hotel is serving for
more than 100 years but the manager in the hotel who has recently retired from the hotel
noticed some problems in the hotel to manage it. It has been discovered that some of the
reception staffs are not performing their duties properly by transmitting the actual
information to other departments and hence discrepancies are arising on the other
departments due to the lack of proper information. The rooms of the hotels are not cleaned
timely; the reception staffs often behave rudely with the customers and others. The
employees are getting into conflicts and the employees in IT department are not properly
trained. Herzberg’s Two-factor Theory of motivation will be highlighted to resolve the above
problems for the understanding of the readers.
Analysis of the individual problem
Summary of the problem with management theory
According to Anand,et al. (2015), in a family conflict research it was discovered from a
family conflict research it was inferred that the family interference was one of the reasons of
the job stress that changed the attitudes of the employee attitudes and it affected the work
performance of the employees in the organization. 756 employees from 15 industries were
surveyed and form the overall survey it was decided that a family interference creates the
dissatisfaction in the minds of the employees leading to non-productivity of the organization.
Furthermore, it was studied from the case that the dissatisfaction also created the job stress in
the work field of the employees.
