INTRODUCTION
Management is the process which is related with the capacity of a person that how they
Handel, treat and supervise their employees in organisation to achieve the objectives of
organisation. They are number of characteristics which management possess in it these are goal
oriented, continuous process, multiple conditional, managing group activity, forces that are
intangible and many more. Imperial hotel is the organisation which is selected in this report. It is
located in London (Mamat, 2018). This hotel is built in their destination which was built in 1905
and 1911. in this report the study will be conducted on staff turnover in the company for which it
will conduct evaluation through different number of management theories, here the theory
related to operational management will also be used for effective management in firm. This plan
have includes three development report for solving issues related to staff turnover.
Analysis of problem
Discussion related to problem which is related from management and operational perspective
In the industry of hospitality management there are number of issues arise which can
cause major problem to productivity and working of firm. In contextual of Imperial hotel these
issues have their separate impact as there is the issue belated to staff turnover which is that high
where firm have no control and stats impaction on profitability of firm. This is high here because
of part time job facility (Bratton and Gold, 2017) . In London there is number of stents who are
there for study and with that they also want some work for running their expanses and hotel
provide them opportunities to work their because if cheap labour, but this will impacted
negatively on firm as after the complication of study these employees will go their home and it
increase the employee turnover ratio of firm. There are also same other reasons which impacted
on employee turnover ratio like bad behaviour of staff, extra working hours lack of motivation.
Some brief problems are discussed below:
Poor work culture: In Imperial hotel employee feels demotivation because of unhealthy
work culture. This is because firm have no control over the behaviour of superior staff .
For instance in Imperial hotel manager shouted on front-line staff or waited for their
small mistakes this will lead in dissatisfaction in mind of employee and they can work on
job with fuller efficiency and performance of firm will get down.

Non proper working hours: turnover of staff member in respected hotel is down
because there is no management of working hours on which employees are working this
is because the is management in firm. The staffs are not adequate to handle the pressure
of customer and that's the reason for overtime of current staff. Overtime will lead in
losing confidence of people of staff. This will also bring depuration in mind on
employees which ultimately impact on performance of firm by declining it over the time.
Lack of training: Trained employee always serves firm in increasing its profits by
managing the performance of firm but in case of Imperial hotel their lack of trained staff
which acted as the reason of increase pressure on employees as they can't handle
difficulty task in organisation. This also acted as barrier for hotel in growth and expiation
of its operation (Loucks and Van Beak, 2017).
Poor pay and miscommunication: There is also a problem of poor pay management and
inaccurate compensation in firm. Communication is also bad in firm as there is lack of
innovation idea in communication and long delay in transfer of information because of
untrained staff there is also problem of irregular pay management in Imperial hotel.
Transport facility: Hotel is also facing the lack of transport facility. Firm have number
of female staff in there firm and they also receive female customer which have to use
personal expenses to travel in the area or to reach at hotel from various destination . This
is the major back drop of firm as it is question on safety of customer and female staff of
firm.
Better opportunity for others: This all can work as an threat for organisation as there is
large number of competitor in the environmental who are waiting for competitor the idea
of firm or elimination the hotel form market do firm have to identify this and manager the
working according to it.
These are the issues which have to identify the management of Imperial hotel for survival
in dynamic environment these is also important for using firm’s resources properly. Hotel is
infected this with this. These issues are also related to other issues if firm and solution to this will
also lead in decrease of other issues (Schaltegger, Burritt and Petersen, H., 2017).
There are some suggestion to solve problem in terms of improved quality
There are various issues in hospitality industry which it face by it some of these are
decrease in profits of firm, decrease in productivity of operation, increase in employee turnover

these problems can be indemnified. For this a good strategic plan is required by firm. In the
context of Imperial hotel there are number of department which have operating in hospitality
industry. And the major problem with this firm is that they are facing the issue of high employee
turnover which is around 80% over the year, the main reason behind this is poor perception of
work culture, unjust able working hours, improper pay and lack of effective regulation in firm.
There are some other reasons also like no transportation facility, lack of better opportunities, so
for decreasing the impact of their problems or eliminating them from firm there must be use of
proper plan which should be dividing in three faces and have ability to understand these
problems (Zada, Başkaya and Shah, 2017).

a concerning point for firm, this can be solved by the help of various tools which are stated
in this by management and operational theory. Two of them is discussed below:
Theory X and Y
This theory was first developed in 1960 by Professor Douglas McGregor. Professor
stated that human behaviour can be divided in two category which are X and Y. X factors are
those who have negative behaviour and Y are those who have positive behaviour for doing same
kind of work in business origination. In context of the Imperial hotel there are strict needs to
follow this theory as they have to reduce employee’s turnover in its firm. This theory can help
firm in doing so, with its proper implementation on firm. The implementation of this theory is
important as there is need of developing efficiency in origination for making effective decision
making and study the behaviour of employees of firm. This theory states that X type of
employees does not like to work, they don’t want to take there responsibilities seriously which

motivation as they remain always self-motivated, the always seeks responsibilities and do what
they have given to do without hesitation. Management staff have to classify these type of
employees separately and treat them separately as for X type of employees it have to do regular
monitoring as a mentor and provide them regular motivation, there must be simple and easy take
for these type of employees. For Y type of employees’ hotel can use different type of functions
like they can give them higher responsibility in their task which help for, in getting know that
what they can do, firm have to use these types of employees in complex task which also satisfy
employee’s ego. This is how this theory of management impact on firms business and can help in
solving the problem of employees turnover this is the best method to solve this problem and
other problem mike bad attitude etc. ac be solved by firm.
Training principal
There are various principle which can help Imperial hotel in there trainings and
development of there employees. It have to run different training programme in its origination
for facilitating change in origination this will help its staff in handling uncertain situation which
arise in peak time of hospitality industry. This also help other employee in getting motivated at
work place and also increase there performance in firm. There are some rules regarding training
and development of firm’s employees (Bullock, Haddow and Coppola, 2017).
1. Training every day: this is that guideline which is related to provide training to
employees about the new rules and change in the policy of firm every day or getting them
favourable with task of whole day.
2. Development of learning objectives which can help in coordination with action plan and
help in firm’s objectives identification.
3. Addressing the gaps and filling them with proper training of employees in origination this
is done to facilitate firm the smooth working in origination.
Contingency management theory
This theory is the best method to use management concept in firm context because it help
managers of origination to do their work in direction of achievement of firms goals. In case of
imperial hotel this theory work more smoothly than any other function here the management
have to follow all the assumption related to this activity. This will help the firm that they can

develop the strategies as wee as plans in effective manner. This will help firm in minimising the
impact of employee turnover at working area of firm.
There are number of strategies which a firm can use in its functioning this will improve
the chances of firm succeed by its application on firm, it will increase the profitably of firm this
is because firm have long term benefit with it as it help them in reducing the high employees
turnover ratio in there origination and get benefit of solving other problems with the help on
management and operating the theories and principals(Bryson, 2017).
CONCLUSION
From above report it can be analysed that firm have major impact of this problem of
employees turnover on firms profit and services , this also give rise to other problems in firm,
but this can be tackle by the management of firm with taking effective measures, these re using
proper the methods in management of firm’s resources. It can be achieved through maintaining
good firm culture, healthy work life cycle and training and development of employees. The main
reason in front of management of employee turnover is lack of motivation which can boost with
the help of managing theories and principals. Theory X & Y and basic principal of management
can help firm in solving the problem. The other problem like customer dissatisfaction because of
employee of origination, front office staff attitude and quality of back office staff will also
improve because of this function.
