Task 1
A) In order to increase the perception of personal growth and reward the employees at
the same time, it is essential that the company comes out with creative measures to
reward the people, which are not just increasing in pay. The best of this can be
increased paid leaves! No employee enjoys a few extra days of paid leave for all the
work that they do. Again, this can be taken into consideration keeping in mind the
employee punctuality and conduct. Three to four extra days are suitable enough. If
not this, then the organization can allow the employee to participate in some
exclusive paid programs to better their skills. No employee will say no to this since it
will be sponsored by the company and will boost their confidence in themselves by
making them believe that they are worthy enough. Motivation is the best way to
ensure employees perform well, and this approach will work just well with
employees under any circumstance. 1
B) The Nominal Grouping Technique allows for problem identification, solution
generation, and decision making. Using this technique, the group had identified
solutions to the problem mentioned above. First, we identified that the employees
have a problem in identifying their personal worth and do not give themselves
enough credit as well2. The best solution we could identify for it was developing self-
worth in the employees by motivating them. This ensured that the employees
become confident of themselves. The last stage of decision making was concerned
with developing such plans for motivation for the employees.
C) By consensus, all the member of the group decided that the best for them to
increase their personal worth is to instil confidence in them, and this can happen

Task 5.2
In creating a knowledge-based system, it is important to involve communication and
analytical skills. These skills are essential to developing these skills to work on these types of
knowledge-based technologies. This allows better interaction and increased efficiency in the
work that they undertake. This program has barely any process or algorithmic involved,
hence, they can be easily used3. It is important to find someone who is well adept with these
skills and will be able to write down the rules tests the resulting knowledge base as
someone with programming competency. Hence, it is advised to go with the second
approach as it is more flexible and better with respect to the needs of the company right
now.
This approach will not only be better in terms of applicability and management but can work
with different types of employees with different types of skill sets; this will ensure better
results and faster processing of the results. this is in return will save the company a lot of
time and other valuable resources as well.
Task 3
Task 7.1
Companies can fail in several aspects of management, of which knowledge management is
one. Knowledge management is defined as efficient handling of information in an
organization by its employees and creating useful data from it. It involves creating, sharing,
d managing the knowledge in such a manner that it allows for organization growth. It is in all
senses a multi-disciplinary approach 4
Organizations often fail in implementing the process of knowledge management in an
effective manner. it is quite evident from the case study given to us. Here, it can be seen
that the organization had so many problems simply because they did not focus on improving

their basic “knowledge-enabled worktables” to provide staff customized access5 to Alpha’s
knowledge base. Because of the problem in this, the employees were not able to access the
data and eventually, the most basic of tasks also could not get completed in time. This
wasted a lot of time of the organizations in re-building the networks and improving the
intranet when it could have been just as easily avoided in the start only had it been checked
properly. Here, the failure has been massive in the second step of strategy development 6
From the case, it can be understood that knowledge management is not difficult, but a
highly strategic process and requires a certain level of thinking and planning before it is
implemented. Hence, the lesson taken away from Alpha is that the first step in knowledge
management is to get the tools right, and then train the employees to use them in the best
possible manner so that they are well aware of how they are supposed to manage the
knowledge they gain, and how it can be taken care of
