This presentation is based on Starbucks which is one of the leading coffee house chain. It will explain leadership and its theories for company. Also, state the management activities whichinvolves planning,organizing,directing and controlling of the company.
Leadership Leadership is both research field and applicable abilities encompassing the capability of the single person or company to lead or guide other person, teams and firm. Leadership in business suggest to the capability to management of Starbucks in relation to create secure judgment and inspire other to perform well. Leadership includes making stable and difficult to decision, making articulating clear vision and set up objective and giving followers with knowledge and techniques needed to accomplish those objectives.

Leadership Theories Traits theory: The trait theory of leadership is assumption by that leaders are born. Due to beliefs, leaders possess the accurate attribute and traits by which they lead and guide their followers. This concept determines behavioral features which are ordinary in leaders.The trait theory of leadership directs on determining various personality traits and feature which are associated to successful leadership across mixture of conditions. Style theory: In this theory, leaders can be classified by gender and task oriented. Also, leaders can be classified by people oriented within the workplace. In this context, male gender is effectively leading the team as compared to female leaders. Also, some leaders are people oriented who are focus on people through guiding and leading for their growth.
CONTD... Contingency- situational theory: The situational theory importance not personalized qualities of leader but upon the condition in which they operate. Effective leader is one who mold himself/herself according to the requirements of given condition. These are three concepts that view which leadership is dependent upon the conditions. Fiedler's Contingency Theory: In this theory, it assumes leaders are susceptible to specific set of leadership attitudes. On other hand, relationship-oriented leaders direct on people which are thoughtful andarenotpowerfulguiding.Forexample:therearehighlyabsenteeismat workplace as working conditions or task assignment, so that leader follow this theory for reducing the number of absenteeism in which they assign appropriate tasks as per job role to employees. Hershey-Blanchard Situational Theory:This kind of theory associated leadership styles with different conditions, so that it is to assure impressive leadership. For example: leader determine activities of subordinate and nearly supervises them for that leaders follow telling and directing to them.
Management Management is procedure of handling with or controlling things or people at theworkplace.Itinvolvesactionsoffixingmethodsofcompanyand cooperating the efforts of their workers to achieve their goals through utilization of available resource like financial, natural, technological and workforce. Basically, functions and activities of management are done through person and website. The operations of firm handle by person by which individual handleallactivitiessuchashandlingallfinancialrecords,workforce planning, technological advancement etc. On other side, the functions of company managed by website like menu, corporate governance by which they maintain all financial records and menu effectively as compared by person.

Management of Starbucks There are mainly five functions of management such as planning, organising, controlling and directing of firm. Planning: It is the main function of management in which Starbucks managers make efforts for planning of resources and time in terms of running operation effectively. Resources involves, financial, human resource and technological which will be utilised in the operation of Starbucks. Organizing:It is another function of management in which manger make efforts to organise and utilised of resources and people in relation to increase sales and profits of firm. Controlling: It is the management function by which managers controlling of quality of management, human resources, supply chain management and scheduling of activities of Starbucks.
CONCLUSION This report has summarized that leaders follow different theories such as traits, style, contingency and situational in relation to improve performance of employees in the firm. It can be concluded that different functions of management like planning, organizing, controlling and directing by which managers handle entire operation of the business.
