Leadership is describe as research area and a practical skill and knowledge that has been
encompasses the ability of an individual or group to lead, influence and guide others. Leaders are

challenging goals. This report is based on the Travelodge hotels limited which is an UK based
private company with headquarter in Thame, England and operating in hotels and hospitality
industry across United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain. This is an UK's largest independent hotel
brand along with over 570 hotels. This report includes significant influence of leaders on the
group and its direction for achieving the organisation goals effectively and efficiently.

Approach to leadership impacts the organisation ability to meet its obligation, as an
effective leader motivates, inspire and guides its subordinates to accomplish established goals
and objectives (DiPaola and Wagner, 2018). The leadership style that a organisation uses
influences overall productivity because it has a direct impact overall employees moral. This has
been help in to ensure that employees are making necessary adjustments and changes to maintain
and improves operations. Leaders direct employees by setting clear goals of organisation so that
employees know what a company is expecting from them and what they have to do for achieving
that particular goal.
Overview of industry
Hospitality industry refers to a broad category of fields within the service industry that
includes lodging, hotel, restaurants, theme parks, transportation etc. the hospitality industry is
associated with providing products and services to people that assist in recreation and supporting
the well being of people. This industry includes various activities which are mainly focus on
providing service and customer’s satisfaction (MacBeath, 2019). It has segmented into major
four categories that are food and beverages, travel and tourism, lodging and recreation. This is

and employees to understand the inns and outs of this dynamic industry so that proper regulation
can be conducted. This has been covering all products and services which serve travellers and
tourist along with all types of visitors. Accommodation services are one of the segments of
hospitality industry that is mainly associated with providing people temporary pace for guest,
visitors, tourist and travellers to stay comfortable. Accommodation is one of the basic and
fundamental aspects of hospitality industry which is essential for the customer's satisfaction. In
this industry, business need to constantly satisfy customers needs and have t keep them always
happy.

Travelodge hotel is an UK based private company along with headquarter in Thame,
England. This has been brought by Charles forte in 1980s with the aim of establishing it in
Britain. This is attached by many roadside little chef restaurants and initially named as little chef
lodges. In 1985 it is rebranding with Travelodge and become Britain's first value hotel brand
when it launched in UK, and opening its first hotel in Barton-Under-Needwood that is an heart of
England. Since then the company has been expended to over 570 hotels in UK which are located
in major cities such as London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham and Belfast that
are most Britain’s largest towns, as well as popular seaside locations and vital roadside stops.
This has continuing its expansion across UK with 15 new opining every year along with
refurbishment programme that a company is carrying out such as upgrading rooms across estates
and replacing various furniture with new and maintaining interior of hotels. Travelodge hotel
provide the best rates guarantee, friendly services and comfortable rooms as for the best and
memorable experience of customers. As this aims to become favourite hotel for value and look to
offer unbeatable value in leisure and business travel.

leadership is based on bringing and pushing out best from the employees. This has been achieved

of the effective leaders that have been utilizing adequate styles and theories which is well
contributing in the high performance and productivity. Along with this, there are more strategies
and styles that can use by leaders for inspiring and directing employees in a better way. Such as
affliative style in which leaders put people first. They have been practicing this style by paying
attention and support emotional need of every group members. This style is all about
encouraging harmony and formation of collaborative relationships with team members. With the
help of this Travelodge hotel is able to reduce conflict between employee and reassuring people
at the time they feel stressed. Moreover this increased the motivation level along with
employee’s retention within the organisation. in addition to this, leader can also use to the
various strategies such as encourage recognition through which an employee feel valued and
instils a sense of commitment and engagement. Furthermore, leaders should delegate and
empowers the employees so that they can be directed in proper manner towards common goals
of the hotel. With the support of this, hotel will ensure a better and smooth functioning through
which customer’s satisfaction gets increased and adds value to the brand.

From the above analyses it has been concluded that leadership is the ability of an individual to
guide, influence and direct the group of an individual’s towards achieving the common goals of
the organisation. Leaders in the organisation works to improve the various aspects ans push
employees towards better vision. There is various functions that a leaders plays within the
organisation to directing the employees and has the significant impact on the overall
performance of the group. In addition to this, there are various styles that is used by the leaders
for providing directions, motivation people and implementation of plan. Moreover leadership
