The paper is focused in the elaboration of the leadership characteristics and the
various aspects of the leadership in the modern world. The paper highlights the importance of
the effective planning in an organizational context and along with that, the paper also
identifies the important skills and the competencies of the leaders. Adding to this, the paper
identifies various teams that are responsible for the effective management of the operations
inside the hospitality environment. With a precise focus on the findings, the paper also
specifies two methods that will be crucial for the managers in building the team spirit.
Apart from this, the paper explains two different sources that can provide notable
amount of resistances to the process of changes in the organizations. In addition to this, the
paper also includes the analysis regarding the approaches that needed to be undertaken in
order to effectively manage the resistances that are associated with the effective
implementation of the change. The paper also figures out the necessity of the diversification
in the teams. In addition to this, the paper identifies three fundamental pillars of the ethical
organization and it also provides an important discussion including the practical examples of
the hospitality industry for the better understanding of the mentioned pillars. Apart from this,
with a precise focus on one example of the hospitality industry, the paper summarizes the role
of motivation and the importance of the quality and control of the team members. With a
precise understanding of the issues present in the example, the paper recommends some of
the important strategies for the effective management of the issues for achievement of the
improved business operations.

The importance of the planning in the modern business environment of the hospitality
industry is seen to be significantly high. With a precise focus on the increasing competition in

the mentioned industry, it is pretty evident that the effective management of the uncertainties
is one of the top most priority for the organizations operating in it. Here lies the importance
of the managers in the hospitality industry. With a precise focus on the parameters of success
such as the financial growth, revenue or the sales of the services, the managers are seen to be
responsible for the effective formation of the strategies for the efficient allocation of the tasks
to the employees which are aligned with the strategic plans of the organization and are
important parts of the operational plans as well. Hence it is pretty evident that the formation
of the personal goal is notably important in the process of planning and in the implementation
of the planning as well.
A personal goal that is specific, realistic or can be achieved through undertaking a
particular plan is considered to be well thought out (Martin 2013). Apart from this, the well
thought out plans are in need to be such where the success can be measured and can be
achieved within a stipulated time.

The conceptual definition of the leadership states that the leaders are the person who
help themselves and their followers do the correct things (Goleman, Boyatzis and McKee
2013). It is a common trend that people get confused regarding the definition of the leaders
and the managers. However, it is pretty clear that the leaders have the responsibility to do the
right things on the other hand, the managers have the responsibility to do the things in the
correct manner. The leaders are observed to set the direction, build an inspiring vision and
create an environment where it is easy for their followers or the teams to win.
In the modern business context, the organizations are subjected to a rapidly changing
environment where the variants such as the market trends, customer preferences and the

requirements of the customers are changing in a significant manner. Hence, in order to
manage the uncertainty in the business operations, the modern organizations are seen to face
the need of individuals with the visionary leadership capabilities. Apart from this, the
leadership skill is important for the individuals as that helps in motivating a particular team
for in their accomplishment of the objectives, in better understanding of the grievances of the
members, in gaining the knowledge regarding the developmental needs of the members and
in providing the appropriate solution to the members. In a nut shell, the leadership skills help
a particular organization in the effective management of their operations and their human
resource in an attempt to achieve the much required financial stability.

Three qualities that are much needed for a leader are the effective communication,
excellence in the decision making and the skill of motivating the followers.
The effective communication becomes much needed for the leader in order to make
sure that his or her team’s performances is not affected by any sort of ethical dilemma. Apart
from this, the leaders are responsible for the effective management of the detrimental impact
of the conflict on the performances of the teams and in that case the skill of the leaders in
establishing effective communication is of great significance.
With a precise focus on the increasing level of uncertainty associated with the
business operations of the modern organizations, the leaders are expected to be decisive in
nature for the appropriate decision making which can contribute to the success of the
organizations (Schoemaker, Krupp and Howland 2013). In addition this, the vision of the
leaders in the formation of the appropriate strategies in order to cope up with the variation of
the modern trends and maintaining the business operations, relevant to the customers is seen
to be much required.
