INTRODUCTION
Leading involves the social and informal sources of influence that you use to inspire
action taken by others. If managers are effective leaders, their subordinates will be
enthusiastic about exerting effort to attain organizational objectives. Sainsbury's, is the
second largest chain of supermarkets in the United Kingdom, with a 16.0% share of the
supermarket sector. Founded in 1869, by John James Sainsbury with a shop in Drury Lane,
London, the company became the largest retailer of groceries in 1922. This report highlight
issues such as importance of maintaining diversity and challenges faced in it. Use and
characteristics of rational goal theory in today’s business organizations.

Why is it important for Business Organisations to manage the diversities among their staff?
It is important for companies such as Sainsbury to manage their diversified culture
among employees because they feel valued because of it.
Diversity and Innovation-
By managing diversity in the right manner they can assure their experience which
helps them to drive innovation. It is assessed that when employees are from similar
background then their tactics and techniques will also be similar. Companies are required to
work with unique perspective which can happen with the help of diversified culture (Mayer,
Oosthuizen, and Tonelli, 2019).
Talent and Customers-
Companies who keep their culture diversified are able to attract best and talented
employees as many people wants to work in this culture. Even customers prefers companies
following this culture. This helps them to achieve growth.
Recruitment to Strategy-
With time many companies have evolved their procedures many of them has
developed a position for chief diversity officer. With that they have enhanced their duties
such as giving them control on areas such as forming strategies, marketing and sales. At the
stages of hiring they will try to form a base of diversified talents. With the help of this
structure and talent of employees in different areas they will be able to cater the needs of
different audience.
