INTRODUCTION
Learning and development are one of those essential and beneficial concepts that enabled
a person to take pleasure of developing skills and improvement related to their personality.
Learning is continuous process that help individual person in term of developing academic or
employment competencies. While development refer to procedure that develop, or enhance the
performance level of candidates. Both concepts play important role in growth and unpredicted
success of individuals, which enable them to be productive while performing as learner or
worker in the world. L&D along with above, provide benefits in varied manners, such as in term
of increasing motivational and confident degree. The current presentation will be based on
specific question and that is to identify the potential to become a coach for which two activities
will be conducted. Furthermore, it will define each activity such as coaching self-assessment tool
and 2 important areas of development.
MAIN BODY
Completing coaching self-assessment tool
In the world competition between individual person and companies increase day by day,
which drive their attention toward conducting varied practices and developing strategies. They
may also take approach to utilize varied or specific methods & techniques for specific reason
such as self-assessment. It defined as process of evaluating own performance and determining
skills that some people may do not have so. It is also considered as individual competencies
review, that a candidate or learner used to perform particular task. It may contribute to determine
one of those key elements that might be exploited or improved in order to achieve predefined
aims and objectives, whether they are related to personal or professional life. Self-assessment is
quite beneficial for everyone, as it may help people to know or understand more about extent of
their effectiveness and capabilities and also support to improve upon them without requirement
of a performance analyser. It may also assist to determine gaps in individual knowledge and
encourage them to examine their own learning as well as extents of comprehending might be
essential.
For purpose of self-assessment, I have utilized coaching self-evaluation tool such as mind
aproach, which encompasses set of 15 questions, among which each question is related to my
efficiency, skill and capability as well as response regarding particular situation. In order to
identify developed and development require areas, I have completed this test and used tool,

which in return provide final outcomes. According to the result I have obtained 46 scores, which
means my coaching skills are quite good, but still I need to improve some areas that help me in
the future when I perform as a coach. After conducting self-assessment test, I have identified that
I need to improve active listening and understanding about motivational techniques, which is
quite important for me to become a coach. As this specific role is accountable to provide
teaching and development chances to individual learner. They may play important role in success
and unexpected growth of students. I want to become an effective coach, who have all the skills
that are needed to fulfil accountabilities and duties of chosen profession. I also want to improve
those competencies that bring barriers in aim achievement.
It is possible when I need to conduct a coaching self-evaluation test, with the help of mind
tool, which enable me to identify my coaching power and lacking areas where improvement is
needed. According to the final outcomes of my skill assessment, I have to concentration on two
particular areas as stated above, which is quite essential for me to do that. My scoring is not that
much satisfactory, as I have to obtain high score in term of applying different types of
approaches and techniques to overcome issue or lacking abilities that made me a good coach.
Effective communication is one of those skills that I have and utilized to communicate with
others in appropriate manner. I have determined this competence with the help of coaching self-
assessment tool. There are variety of models and frameworks available in the education world
that has been utilized in the context of students and learners who tend to develop their skills and
improve those that they have. Active listening and motivational techniques are included in list of
coaching skills that is important for a person to have especially when they seek to perform their
role as a coach.
With the help of this competence they are capable to support individuals and just like
them I also want to do that. I need to develop active listening competence, which is quite
essential for me. I have also identified that I am lacking some areas of motivational approaches
about that I also want to develop my knowledge level. With the help of coaching self-assessment
told I have determined my strength and weaknesses which drive my attention towards taking
right action and using the best methods that are available in the world. Without having proper
understanding about motivational approaches, I would not be able to perform role as coach (The
5 skills you need to be a powerful coach, 2017). It made me capable to obtain and provide desires
outcomes by using excellent competencies. Become a good listener is important for anyone,
