INTRODUCTION
Inclusive teaching is essential for every teaching institute in order to develop learning
environment. It is the duty of the tutor to treat every student equally irrespective of their cultural
background. Lesson planning will help the tutor to outline what they need to discuss during the
lecture and what they want their student to learn specifically from lesson (Ahmed and et.al
2020). This report will cover the aim and characteristics of the lesson planning, It entails how
lessons are being planned to accomplish the goals, it also covers the learning styles and
taxonomies. It also describes the preparedness of the effective lesson plan, and also lays out the
need for flexibility and adaptability in designing of lesson plan. Moving on further it will lay out
the complete lesson plan for the Hospitality and management subject. It will also illustrate the
description of assessment and evaluation along with its different methods. Report will also lay
out the uses of differentiated assessment and analysis of assessment and evaluation result.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
1.1 Aim of lesson planning
Lesson planning refer as the tutor’s road map, in which it outlines the main topics which
need to be cover in classroom. It helps the instructor to effectively practice teaching during
classroom so that every individual will be able to learn the lesson. Its aim often describes that
what tutor wants their learner to specifically learn from the lesson. With this tutor can easily
proceed to develop the appropriate strategies which helps them in obtaining the feedbacks from
students, it will help in creating the learning environment (Jemaia). Having a clear lesson plan
will help the tutor to enter the class with confidence, thus it will allow them to teach efficiently
so that learner’s goals will have achieved. Its objective is better performance, criteria and
conditions, its focus on important learning requirement of the class.
Another benefit of lesson planning is that with this tutor can easily begin to arrange the
activities that helps the student to increase their focus. For an example if tutor is teaching laws
and regulation subject, then in such it is difficult for the students to learn the laws, for that tutor
can proceed with lesson plan which helps in conducting in between question answer session that
will allow the students to increase their grip on subjects. Thus, instructor also need to ensure that
4

to plan the lesson with efficiency as to think before including activities, it is important for them
to make their student able to completely engage with the subjects.
However it also have disadvantage which is it consumes more time to plan the lesson, tutor can’t
do work independently, also the simplest things will become more complicated. Steps for lesson
planning are-
To analyse the learning objectives.
Plan for the specific activities for learning
Plan to analyse the learner’s understanding
Developing realistic deadline
To plan for closure of lesson
1.2 The characteristics of effective lesson plan
Planning is a constitutional part of the complete teaching operation. It help teachers in
order to become highly organized in order to feel more confident and focused towards their goals
and objectives (Dillman, 2021). Lesson plan act as a powerful teaching resource which greatly
support students in every manner. In general there are certain major characteristics of appropriate
lesson planning which includes:
Build over students superior cognition: At the time of lesson planning, in general each
individual provide significant focus towards the extra efforts that are going to teach by
the tutor in front of their students. It involves the overall syllabus and reach towards
necessary progress in order to deliver their lessons in front of the whole class. The plan is
highly restrained with time, appraisal and the standards. At this stage, students prior
information has been recognized and the tutor have to try their best in order to mitigate
the misconceptions or doubts that interfering the students' ability to learn.
Allows for advanced flexibility: In order to fulfil the desire and requirements of students
in fruitful manner, flexibility among the teachers mentoring styles are highly significant
in nature. Hence, they have to consider some modifications as and when required by the
students. It is all about providing their best input in order to maximize the outcome from
their learners in positive manner.
Clarification of transition of knowledge: Grabbing students attention is the most initial
task for teachers as without their complete attention, the tutors are unable to transfer the
5

knowledge which they want to transfer (Farrelly, 2018). Apart from this, maintaining the
similar kind of focus is also equally challenging for all of them. Hence, the lesson plan
should consist of clear transitions which is more time effective and efficient.
Allotment of time for student engagement: Tutors have to provide time to their learners
in order to adopt changes and take lessons in most effectual manner. It involves the
allotment of precious opportunities for students which encourages them to learn and
achieve personal growth and expansion in impressively.
The 7E's of lesson planning consists of engage, elicit, explore, explain, elaborate, extend
and finally evaluate the whole concept in detailed manner has been accomplished. At elicit stage
tutor found that students level of understanding, next is engaged stage at which interest and
curiosity arises among individuals, at explore stage people should be given opportunities in order
to work together, explore stage provides concepts has been build, next is elaborate stage at which
student applies this learning, next is extend phase at which encouragement has been done to
apply the concepts and the last is evaluation stage at which teachers evaluate the learning that has
been occurred.
1.3 Designing of lesson plan which incorporate goals and requirements to students
Lesson plan is a path way which effectively able to illustrate the things that needs to be
learned by students during the classroom sessions. Before plan any lesson, the identified learning
outcomes must be met and then appropriate strategies has been developed to obtain feedback
over students learning. Tutors always want their students to cover each important part of learning
which had been designed by them after considering their requirements. In order to design
appropriate lesson plan, certain actions will be taken:
Step1: Learning objective: Setting of effectual learning goal is pivotal part of overall
lesson planning as it requires clear instructions which have to be fulfilled by the teachers.
Step2: Learning activities: Learning activities refers to those actions which is greatly
necessary within lesson planning as it allows teachers to engage students into some
activities which help to enhance their understanding towards any significant process or
topic.
