INTRODUCTION
Health and safety refers to some procedures and the regulations which are conscious to prevent any accident in
public as well as at workplace. In an organisation , it is the responsibility and duty of management to take care of
the health of their employees and keep them safe from any accident (Lundgren and McMakin, 2013). Company
should make effective and efficient safety and health related policies. In this report mention about legislative
framework for risk management, safety and the health in the work place. I have to analyse that how procedures,
policies and the practices in meeting a risk management and health requirements. It is necessary to complete and
keep all reports related with the safety and health issues on the basis of requirements of legislative and a business
firm. In this present report also mention about the contribution to the growth and development of procedures, polices
and practices to formulate, assess and then manage risks or issues to people and others. It is necessary to take

feedback from people related to procedures, polices of risk management, health and safety from people. It is
necessary to identified the main areas of and then make some changes to policies, procedures and practices that
will help in protect the workplace.
Learning Outcome 1- Understand the current legislative framework and organizational health, safety and
risk management policies, procedures and practices that are relevant to health, and social care or children
and young people’s settings
1.1 Explain the legislative framework for health, safety and risk management in the work setting
The health and safety act is developed to protect the people from any kind of injury or accident at workplace. This
act is the primary and main piece of legal system which develops some benefits and rights on workers and
management. It can be applied to any individual such as a workmen, students, visitors and parents. “Health and
Safety at Work Act (1974)”, gives a structure for managers to provide safe and secured working environment to
each and every person working in the organization. It is the duty of top management to formulate effective safety
related policies with respect to health and safety. Managers are responsible to implement policies in an effective
way and to take care of the health of all employees and their welfare through making sure that equipment and
machines are safe, proper maintenance of equipment, (De Nazelle and et.al., 2011).
To reduce the accidents at workplace, employer should provide training to its employees about any equipment and
before their using, it is necessary to give them instructions and provide them complete information regarding the
same.
It is the responsibility of Safety and Health Executive's (HSE) for enforcement of legislation related to health and
safety. The executives have power to make improvement and also prohibition of notices and file case against any
individual who is not working legally or by following the law and regulations. (Chartier, 2014). An employer should
not avoid any type of issue and accidents. All employees are eligible to work in an organization where are the risks
are properly controlled and monitored. If there is any issue to employees, then it is the responsibility of manager is
to listen their issues and solving them in an effective and efficient manner.

There are some other legislation are given below:
Food act- This act provides a structure for all food legislation in United kingdom. IT is necessary that quality of
food should be goods in health care organizations. It is responsibility of food business to assure about the quality of
foods which are sell to customers.
Fire act- In UK, fire safety was covered through regarding seventy pieces of the fire safety law. It is necessary that
heath acre organizations take care about the security and safety of workplace.
1.2 Explain how you have analyzed how policies, procedures and practices in own setting meet health,
safety and risk management requirements
My organization has its own procedures and policies in the written form which are implemented by manager at work
place in a proper manner. After some time, employer make some changes in existing plans and policies. Policies
include information for workers in context of practices related to safety and health with work settings and the
procedures or policies of risk assessment. In this, it is necessary for the manager of health care organizations to
develop effective policies and procedures in a proper manner and at the time of implement them include all staff
members.
All the policies, practices and procedures are determined on the basis of ongoing process along with update or
modifications in existing procedures or policies being apply and then state to all workers in a clear way.
In my organization, there is designated person who is expert in his/ her field and also responsible to check all safety
and health related standards with updating the policies of safety in a proper manner (Zohar, 2014). It is the
responsibility of this designated person to interact with employees at the time of their meetings and formal
conversation. My company appoints a good and trained maintenance team who is accountable for attending and
make the solution of any problems or issues related to health and safety at workplace.
It is the responsibility of manager to inform or awe all staff members about the changes in existing policies and
procedures. If staff members will feel safe in company, then in this case, they will work properly without any type of
fear and support in increasing the productivity and profitability of business.

Learning Outcome 2- Be able to implement and monitor compliance with health, safety and risk
management requirements in health and social care or children and young people’s settings
2.1.Explain how you have demonstrated compliance with health, safety and risk management procedures
A legislation states that I have a legal responsibility to keep the place proper and to manage all arrangements
regarding safety and health. In a business organisation, the management of safety and health at workplace
regulation at 1999 needs managers to put some arrangements and ensure about the health and safety of staff
members and control on it. I have a procedure, practice and policy that are meet with the legal requirements in
which involves policy in the written form (In case if an employer employee total 45 people or more than that)
consumers, staff members, contractors and any other person who can be impacted through my all activities and
tasks and also record them in a written form (Henderson and et.al., 2011).
Any safety, health and risk assessment should be appropriate and effective, make suitable arrangements for the
efficient and effective planning, controlling, monitoring and after all these things it is necessary to take review of all
measures that are come from the practices, policies and risk assessments.
It is the responsibility of a manager to give training to all new as well as existing staff members regarding any
equipment and machineries so that they can deal with any type of risk and issue in an effective way along with
giving instructions clearly. In an organisation, there should be proper supervision of employees and also consult
time to time with their employees in context of health and safety measures. The executives of Health and Safety is
also responsible for doing all the arrangements for bring the law of Health and Safety Act in every company in
United Kingdom.

It is a responsibility to manage the health care arrangements.

It is the duty of manager to make the safety and health policies in written.
Responsible for doing doing arrangement for enforcement of health legislations.
2.2. Explain how you have supported others to comply with legislative and organizational health, safety and
risk management policies, procedures and practices relevant to their work.
It is necessary to give training to each and every worker who is already working in an organization. From this,
chances of accidents will be less at workplace. I have to support other people to comply with legal system and
company's health, risk management procedures, policies and practices which are better according to the employees
work. It is necessary to review or check all the safety and health risks assessment on annual basis (Zhang and
et.al., 20102). There are many other people involve like:
Significant others- The main motive of an organization is to formulate a workforce environment which is totally
based up on the experience, capabilities and the skills of many communities or society. The workforce can be a
main key to explicit the diversity of my business enterprise and then involve in many activities with people and
various group of people.
Regulators and Inspectors- From the year 1974, a Health and Safety Commission (HSC) has stated all main
interests by conducting a open research program and also identified the all guidance, standards and regulations to
assess all managers to meet their main requirements.
Visitors to unit- It has an obligations to make sure about the welfare of other people other than the workers and
safety and health at workplace (Glendon, Clarke, S. and McKenna, 2010). It is necessary that staff members should

be expert in their specific field and manage any risks of tourists safety, and know about that tourists have various
danger disclosure, nature, skills and the knowledge for employees.
When these all people will come for visit then, it is my duty to aware them about all the safety procedure and before
their visiting I will check all the arrangement and safety standards of my organization. It will helps in keep them safe.
I will provide them the safety policies and procedures of my company so that they will feel safe.

2.3 Explain the actions you have had to take when health, safety and risk management, procedures and
practices are not being complied with.
If in a business firm, there is any doubt or issue about the procedures, policies and practices of safety and health
management then in this case, it is necessary or required to take some actions against. In my organization, there
are a good and responsible person who has all information about the risk assessment and also up to date from any
procedure or policies of health and safety at workplace. If there is any issue or problem to staff members, then in
this case it is the responsibility of employees to tell that person or discuss. It is his/her duty of solve out the
problems or employees. In my company, there is also a maintenance team which control all safety and health
measures and also monitor it. (Covello and Merkhoher, 2013).
Management makes useful and effective policies for employees and it is their responsibility to follow them. If in
case they do not follow and work according to company's policies then in this case, accidents will take place and
risk will be involved related to health and safety. If the non- conformity is decreased then gives an opinion and also
describe all guidelines in an effective manner. If there is necessary information to an organization and to prevent it,
then in this case it is necessary to company to share information and data with third party. It is the responsibility of
management about the health of staff members and provide them good working environment so that they can
perform well. From this, development and profitability of company will be enhanced
