Theme 1 Concept of talent management
According to the Claus (2019), Talent management refer to the process of managing the talent
and the skilled employees in the workforce so that the organizations can increase their
performance to increase the productivity and profitability of the organizations in achieving
business objectives and goals. It is a constant process that involved retention and attracting high
quality employees and also developing their skills and motivating them to improve the
performance so that the organizations can utilize that performance and that morale increasing the
business objectives and goals. Talent management naturally encompasses many of the
responsibilities of the human resource management of the organizations. Tesco focus in utilizing
the best of their talents which are already working in the organization and retaining those talents
for a longer period of time so that the organizations can improve their performance for a longer
period of time and also utilize them in the best of the process of the organization. Talent
management is one of the most important part of the organization as it's very important for the
organizations to retain their best talent and managing talent is important as it helped the
organization in achieving the business objectives and goals. talent management is very crucial in
today's world as the COVID-19 pandemic is going and it is very important further organizations
to maintain and manage all their talent and employees so that they do not face any losses and the
work in such crucial time goes on in their regular note and it also gives a strength to the
organization in utilizing the best of their talents into the operational and production of the
organizations in providing product quality and services to the customer.
The Krishnan and Scullion (2017), suggested that, it is very important for Tesco do utilize the
best of the talent management process in the organizations so that that does not get affected in a
major term due to COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 pandemic has hit huge impact on many of
the industries and retail industries also get affected due to the COVID-19 and it is very important
for the organizations to understand the criticality and crucial it of the COVID-19 pandemic
situations. Where people are losing their jobs and are shifting to different organizations it is very
important for the Tesco to manage their best of the talent and retain the best of the talent in the
crucial time so that in future they can utilize those talent employees increasing the productivity
and profitability of the organizations and it is very crucial for them to increase all the processes
