How might you go about identifying personal and professional development
requirements?
It is of great importance to identify my own professional as well as personal requirements. Identifying these will
be extremely useful in enhancing my professional as well as personal life. There are a number of ways that can
be adopted for the purpose of identifying the personal and professional development requirements. The
feedback from the colleagues as well as my own assessment will be helpful in this regard. I will compare my
current achievements with those of the others to determine my exact status. It will also help me to determine
exactly where I stand in the professional as well as the personal life. Proper skill gap analysis as well as
training need analysis may prove to be useful in this regard.

How might you establish reliable and valid trends in professional
development?
I work as a Human Resource Manager in an organisation. I have carried out a proper analysis as to the
different trends that are currently used by the individuals to enhance their professional as well as personal
skills. There are a number of courses that are available for the purpose of enhancing the overall skills.
Considering the skills that are needed for the purpose, the individuals can opt for the different short term as
well as diploma courses. It should be noted that the course is done from a proper registered organisation

What are the benefits of personal and professional development to you and to
the organisation?
I have estimated that there are a number of benefits that are obtained from the above analysis. The most
important among them being that it enhances the overall job performance of the individuals. I have noticed that
developing a proper personal and professional development plan and abiding by all the activities that are
mentioned in it often helps in bringing a steady change to the career prospects of the individual I have noticed
that with the help of these my contributions towards the organisation will also increase thus creating an
effective professional image of me in the organisation. The required steps will help me in achieving promotion
and hence gearing up my career to a great extent.
My benefits will also contribute towards the organisation greatly. It will help the organisation to improve their
profitability and will also assist the effective decision making process of the organisation.

The professional development is one of the most important as well as significant steps that can be adopted
by me. In the current scenario, I have analysed that I need to implement a number of steps for enhancing my
personal as well as professional development. In this regard, I have analysed that there are a range of types
and methodologies through which the professional development can be gained and these are reading,
mentoring, job swaps ,crash courses, training , reading as well as distance learning. Each of them have their
own advantages and disadvantages.

the PDP will affect me to enhance my skills. He has pointed out that I have made remarkable
improvements in the communication sector and that is quite appreciable in the sector. He has pointed out
that my skills will be useful for the organisations. However, he also pointed out that the leadership skills
needs to be improved much earlier as it has already lingered the required time.
I also noted that the leadership skills can only be improved if the office and my work environment allows
me to do so. I also pointed out that the leadership skills that will be developed by me will also affect the
overall workability of the organisation in an effective manner. The line manager at last agreed to provide a

By receiving feedbacks from my colleagues from various aspects, I am able to reach the threshold. By which
this have been shown that there is a huge improvement in the verbal or communication skills. Among the
professional skills, the industry awareness’s have also been improved a lot. Use of the ICT has also been
upgraded.
The time management including the planning and organisational skills is improved. However, in some other
aspects, something is lagging behind that have got a bit low grade. These involve the written skills, listening,
technical knowledge, financial awareness, corporate working, mentoring and coaching and some other parts.
Inside the personal effectiveness, commitment of the personal development has been lower to some extent
that needs to be improved. So, all those parts need to be upgraded properly so that effective corporate
development can be improved within short span.
