Present report is based upon the United Parcel Service which is one of the most
famous and larger parcel service in UK. Currently cited company suffering from some issues
such as leadership, management etc. this report will describe different leadership styles which
will help cited company to remove the different conflicts and issues. Apart from this report
also explains the importance roles and responsibilities of leader and manager. Furthermore, it
also explains the importance of team work in the success of business. At the end this report
will focus on the different skills and attributes of leaders.

human resource manager. There are different types of laws and regulations which have to be
followed by United Parcel Service.
 Equality Regulation Act 1974: the main of this rule is to remove of all kinds of
favouritism from the country. This rule states that there should be no discrimination
with respect to case, colour, age, sex, religion etc. according to this law cited
company have to provide the same rights, power and facilities to all employees.
 Race relation act 1976: according to this law cited company should provide the same
pay scale to male and female candidates. When an organisation determines their
functions and operation on particular religions, it impacts negatively on the
employees.

 Right to employment Act 1998: this law mainly focuses on the rights of employees at
workplace. Chosen company must protect the rights of employees at workplace.

 Disability Discrimination Act 1995: the main aim of this law is to protect disable
people. According to this law organisation have to give same opportunities and

effectual manner. Effective communication skill: this is one of the most important skill of good leader
because through the good communication skill, leader of cited company can motivate
his subordinates in effectual manner. Through the communication skill, leader can
easily build a good relationship with employees. Team building: team work is one of the best way to increase the productivity of any
business. Good leader should be able to maintain a team work at workplace. Through
the teamwork, employees can share their knowledge and skills with each others and
can enhance their performance with the help of new skills and techniques. Creativity: this is another important skill of leadership. Leader of chosen company
should be creative and innovative. As through the creation and innovative idea he can
solve the complex situations and it also helps to bring future opportunities in the
business. Decisiveness: a good leader should be able to guide and coordinate the employees in

take decision at workplace. According to this leadership style, only director, top
management and leader have authority to take decision. In this style employees does
not have power to share their skills and ideas at workplace. This leadership style
benefits employees who require close supervision.
 Participative: this leadership style will help employees of chosen company to accept
changes easily because they play a role in the process. This leadership style used by
organisation when they need to change the business and want to launch new products
and services.
 Democratic leadership style: this leadership styles states that organisation should
operate their functions and operations with taking participation of employees in it.
