INTRODUCTION - Management and operation helps organisation to develop high quality products andimproving production. Managers in management pre-determined goals and objectives . In this study the chosen organisation is tesco.TASK 1P 1Different roles and characteristics of a leader and a manager.Manger - Manager manages people that works in organisation and its process and takes actionon which a cooperative groups in direct toward achieving common goals 'Leader – A leader use their power to influence organisation employees by providing directionand motivation. Leaders help in development of employee in organisation for increasing theirperformance.Managers – Every organisation have different roles of managers that helps in properoperational design and management (Gillen, Jacquillat and Odoni, 2016). Managers developpre-determined plans for future development , strategies and polices. Mangers have quality forperformance appraisal that perform task and implement regular times intervals . Decision takingin right time is also a quality of manager that help to take decision in right time according tosituation. It helps in business growth and accomplishing objective of organisation with the helpof effective managerial decision.Leaders – The role of leader is to motivate employees by building strong employees relation.Leaders works with employee to achieve goals and objectives . Leader have quality to leadsemployees in different situations . This quality help leaders to implement effective ideas intoreality with employees. Leaders are goal orientated person that helps organisation to achievegoals in effectively .Leader have quality to apply different motivation technique to improveemployee performance and getting effective results (Haksever and Render, 2018).

For development of authorityby taking that accomplishment of objectives and goals that have effective relation with themanagers. Leaders roles in TESCO helps in effective leading technique for employees workingin organisation.
