INTRODUCTIONManagement and operations focus on coordination, planning, organising, manage theprocess of creation of service and goods. Report will be based on Toyota which is amultinational auto mobile manufacturer which produce auto-mobiles, engines, commercialvehicle (Bozarth and Handfield, 2019). It was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937. This reportwill describe management system of Toyota. It will define roles of both managers and leaders,highlighting the differences between management and leadership. It will evaluate strengths andweaknesses of different approaches to leadership and management. It will explain keyoperational approaches to operations management and their value. It will evaluation impact ofexternal business environment factors that affect decision-making by leaders and managers. LO 1 Introduction and management structure of ToyotaToyota Motor Corporation is Japanese multinational automotive company. It wasfounded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937 and headquartered in Toyota city, Aichi, Japan. Thisorganisation consists of 364,445 employees worldwide. It produces luxury vehicle, auto mobiles,engines, commercial vehicles, etc. Toyota is sixth largest company in the world with¥29,397,510 million revenue. It is the world's market leader hydrogen fuel cell and hybridelectric vehicles (Mahadevan, 2015). It produces vehicle via five brands including Toyota suchas Lexus, Hino, Daihatsu and Ranz. Management of ToyotaManagement includes planning, business goals, methods to obtain them, sources, people,motivation, direction, instruction, supervision, etc. Toyota has Divisional organisationalstructure. This have various organisational functions into regional division. Divisional Organisational Structure It is divisional structure in which each division has mandatory information, resources andfunctions to support product line, IT and marketing department, finance, etc. In multi divisionalstructure, parent company owns subsidiary companies and each use brand and name of parentcompany. Disadvantage of this structure is operational inefficiencies of separate specialisedfunctions and it can affect accounting and taxes.1

Divisional structure includes product departmentalisation in which various activitiesregarded to services or products are authorised by managers. It supports flexibility in marketstrategies and product offering. Leadership can be definedby the ability and capability to lead a group of people in organisation.
