INTRODUCTIONOperations management is that area which is related with designing and also managingthe production process and also redesigning operations of business in manufacturing of servicesand products. The main focus of operation management is on process to manufacturing and alsodistributing the services and goods. Starbucks is the largest coffee business organisation and alsoa chain of coffee house (Bhagat, Bolton and Subramanian, 2011). This business enterprise servesmany different items such as cold and hot drinks, tea products, whole bean of coffee etc. In thispresent business report mentions about the comparison among the various characteristics andalso roles of manager and a leader in Starbucks. In the different situation, the functions of amanager and also role of a leader is going to discuss in this report. Under this present givenreport also mentions regarding the various types of theories and also models of approaches.TASK 1P1. Various roles and characteristics of a leader and a manager of StarbucksA manager is a person who is responsible for administrating, managing and alsocontrolling an organisation. It is the duty of Starbucks manager is to monitor and also controlthe all activities related to the organisation. It also motivate its staff members so that they canwork well and enhance their skills. In this firm, manager hires and selects the capable staffmembers for doing business related activities. This person also provides training for increasingtheir skills, knowledge and working capabilities. Leader is also an important part of theorganisation. Its is a person who gives the instructions, direction, suggestions and also directiontoperson and group of persons for accomplishing the common goals and objectives. The rolesand responsibilities of a leader and manager are different from each other but both are workingfor achieving the common aim and objectives. In Starbucks, there are different types of leadersworking. Leader always motivate its team members to work together in a team. There are someroles of a leader and manager as given below:Roles of leaderTeam building- It is the main role of a leader to make the team building and alsoencourage all team members to work together by supporting each other.
