INTRODUCTION Management and operations are two important business operations. These factors have great impact on the success and growth of firm. The management is defined as the activity that is facilitated by the manager in order to bring all employees together and encourage them to increase their contribution towards achievement of business goals and objectives. Operational referstoasthe humanactthatincludeplanning,designing, managing, organisingand controlling operational and production activity. Sound operational management system assist organisation in ensuring the effective as well as efficient utilisation of resources. It aids business entity in minimising wastage and also assist firm in increasing production capacity. The project emphasizes on de terming the role of leader and function of leader in different situational context in holiday in Express hotel. It will also include the explanation about the various operational management approaches. TASK 1 P1 Differentiating the roles as well as characteristics of leader and manager Manager and leaders plays essential role in the business. They are the people who have the responsibility to manage people and activities in the organisation. A manager is a person who is accountable for managing and administering an enterprise or employees at workplace. They are recognised as a manager due to their specialised abilities and capabilities to manage resources as well as people within an organisationhas overall charge of managing overall business performance. The leader is the person who have high influencing power to motivate people for improving their performance and increasing their participation in various business activities(Harwiki,2013.)Leadersareresponsibleformaintainingteamperformanceand inspiring people to contribute in driving team towards achievement of common goals. The function of manager in holiday in Express hotel is to develop effective strategy in order to assist business entity in dealing with changing situation. It is the duty of manager to manage all the activities and operation within a firm. The role of leader is to motivate team member to improve their performance and help team in producing desired outcome. It is the duty of leader to formulate strategy for team member and assist team member in completing their task. The function of manager is to develop business plans , policies , regulations and establish standards. As this activity will assist cited venture in achieving organisational goals and objectives. objective ofholiday in Express hotel is to increase its market share , profitability and gain customer loyalty. The leaders and manager inholiday in Express hotel should complete their task and duties in appropriate manner. As this action and strategy will assist them in maintaining their position within organisation and fostering career growth.
