INTRODUCTIONOperation management is concerned with planning and organising production process in themost efficient way. It is basically managing the resources that are required for producing goodsand services of an organisation (Hill and Hill, 2017). The present report is going to discuss theimpact of leaders and managers in Unilever, a British-Dutch consumer goods transnationalcompany headquartered in London, Netherlands and Rotterdam. A section of the report willhighlight the comparison between roles and characteristics of manager and leader. A range oftheories and approaches of leadership will be discuss in this section. Further, the section willcover the value and importance of operations management. ACTIVITY 1 Impact of leaders and managers in the Unilever companyA leader is a person who posses the ability of influencing and inspiring people to moveinto a particular direction by setting a clear vision for achieving a common goal. This ability ofinfluencing a group of people in the organisation is called as leadership skill (Storey, 2016). A manager is a person who manages the different managerial functions such as planning,organising, directing, coordinating and controlling the activities of Unilever. Manager get thingsdone by others in the most effective and efficient way.
