INTRODUCTION
Operation management is term to be one of the best administration business practice which is
used to create highest level of efficiency within a business concern. In this the main focus is on
to make conversion of raw materials to finished goods effectively as well as efficiently so it
become possible to raise profit margin of the company. The organization that was selected in this
project is SOFT is a IT based mobile soft ware company specialized in mobiles app and software
and web desighn and development company. Sign soft is UK based company The topics which
were discuss under this project are roles and features of manager & leader, different situation are
supported by different theories and concepts. In the assignment key operational function are also
explain in context to the company SOFT and also role of leader as well as manager in each
operational function is are also discussed in the report. And the last topic concentrate on the
evaluation of the impact of external business environment factors that make negative impact on
decision making by managers and leaders as well as it is focused that how make improvement in
business operation successfully in terms to satisfy business objectives by adopting various
approaches of management and leadership (Balasubramaniam, 2016)

P.1. Define and compare the different role and characteristic of leader and a manager?
Leader: A leader is an individual who provide guidance to people and give instruction to their team
members. Leader is the person who thought about how to make improvement in the things. Leaders
can work towards making their vision a reality while putting people first. They must be empathetic as
well as connect with members to become successful.
Manager: manager is a person who are responsible to perform various different activities such as
controlling, directing, administering, staffing, planning, developing strategies. They are the
people who has full control over the affairs of the company. In the organization managers are in
the middle level who received guidelines from top management and give orders to their
subordinates. Managers have powers to delegate their authority to their juniors (Christop, 2016)

Role of a leader: Leaders plays a very creative role in the organization. As the business success is
depends on leaders. If good leaders is present than it provide support to their members of team and it
reflects effective results. Whereas if leader do not possess all the basic qualities that it tends to make
negative impact on business. Their role is wide as they perform various activities.
Leaders provide directions: All the important principles and values are discussed by leaders from
the people of their team. Leaders provide support to their members and give instructions to
them regarding members can achieve the task effectively and efficiently.
Leader plays a role of decision maker: he is an individual who are responsible to take most
effective decision after analyzing all the available alternatives and choose the most appropriate
action.
Listener: as good leaders always listen more and talk less. He observe the things and situations.
Leaders try to understand the views of their team members.
Delegator: the best leader delegate both willingly and strategically to ensure every thing is
done and to train their employees to take on bigger role in the organization.
Strategist: leaders taught strategically and frame such type of approaches and directions which
is beneficial to them and organization.
Act as a coach: he also plays a role of coach when they perform the task to achieve some
targets. He tends to be influencing members towards their views.
Role of a manager: in the organization managers play a most significant role in the business.
Manager act as a controller in the business. Various roles are perform by manager. Such as
Interpersonal role: in the job of manager three interpersonal roles are present. As they are
responsible to do ceremonial duties , act as a motivator they attends to improve the efficiency level
