Training needs for employees in relation to safety and quality improvement:
Safety and Quality Measurement in an organization is crucial to promote quality of
service and eliminate unnecessary hazards present in the clinical setting. To realize the goals of
safety and Quality Measurement in organization, there is a need to provide training to employees
in the area of effective utilization of appropriate measurement tools to assess risk and identify
quality risk issues. Training in this area would help employees to effectively utilize quality
improvement tools to achieve an organization’s vision and key objective. This would help
employees to support continuous safety and quality improvement in the organization. Awareness
regarding necessary tools to evaluate quality parameters would also play a role in professional
development of staffs as this would them the opportunity to update their basic professional skills
(Dale & Plunkett, 2017).
Apart from training, on-site facilitation and training on change management is also
necessary so that employees are able to suggest innovative idea to control hazards and promote
safety in the organization. Training session should also focus on provide technical assistance to
employees on developing appropriate action plan so that they can easily identify root cause of
barriers to accreditation and apply quality improvement principles to address barriers to safety in
the system. This form of technical assistance would help in identifying root causes and quickly
identifying process needed for improvement. Training in this area will also enhance employee’s
knowledge regarding metrics that need to be monitored during assessment and contribute to the
development of appropriate quality plans (McGlynn & Kerr, 2016).
Existing employees in the organization can also be given team based training so that each
individual coordinate with other employees to quickly complete tracking quality and safety
