INTRODUCTION
Management is termed out as set of principles that relates with functions of planning
organising, directing and controlling business functions to accomplish organisational objectives
(Berry, Broadbent and Otley, 2019). On the other hand, operations called out as to manage the
inner workings of business to run its efficiently as possible. In addition to this, operation
management defined as multi disciplinary field that put consideration over managing all aspect
of organisation operations.
The present report is based on business activities of Coca-Cola, it is manufactured by the
Coca-cola company. It is world's third largest most valuable brand.
Furthermore, report will outline the topic as to examine the role of leader and function of
manage apply in different situational context. Also, different theories and model of approaches
will be outlined with use of situational leadership, system leadership and contingency. Lastly,
key approaches to operation management will be defined to improve the efficiencies of
operational management.

2.1
P1: Examine role of leader and function of manager in different situation context.
Coca- Cola is an entity that ensures to run out business practices and functions effectively
in any situation. Henceforth, leader and manager of the enterprise plays the crucial role to
perform business activities effectively that aids to handle complex situation. This can also assist
to impact the working of enterprise (Calás and Smircich, 2019). Therefore, the varied situation
arises in chosen enterprise are outlined as-:
Employee conflicts- It is one of the common situation that leads to create the barriers that can
affect the working of enterprise. Thus, changes in operational functions, procedures and policies
leads to arise resistance among employees (Deterding, 2019). This helps to create the
environment and carried out smooth working conditions. Thus, conflicts among the employees
can hamper the working conditions and brings out the negative results. For Example- changes in
working times without any prior communication can arise the situation that can create negative
working in enterprise. Hence, role of leader and manager in situations as are-:

Manager- It is termed out as an individual who plays responsible part in managing performance
of enterprise. Managers to must take the meetings with employees and takes immediate actions
in terms to deal with situation.
Leader- They must talk with employees in calmly manner. Thus, leaders must coordinate with
managers and must have their involvement in decision making of enterprise.
Employee turnover- It is termed out as situation in which employees are resigning and living
their job. Thus, situation of employee turnover can arise due to inflexible working conditions,
ineffective distribution of income etc. It creates the negative environment (Gao and Yang,
2019). Demotivation in employees results in lower level of productivity.
For example- Manufacturing unit of entity face the situation as to lower level of productions and
this is happening due to employee turnover. It brings reduction in efficiencies of enterprise.
Thus, role of leader and manager is as-:
Manager- The manager of the enterprise must frame out the policies that assist to hire the skilled
labour workforce and needs to take the initiatives that supports to retain the employees within
organisation.
Leader- Leader needs to take the steps to motivate employees and also needs to engage in to
build better relationships. Leader must direct the managers to provide training facilities to
support employees and this also leads to enhance motivational level.
Financial crisis- It is kind of the situation that can be occurred at a time when entity face with
lack of funding. Thus, financial crisis affects the entity in the huge aspect. It losses the all over
productivity within enterprise if entity is facing with funding issues (Guo, Berkshire and
Hermanson, 2019).
For example- At the time, if the inflation rate of the enterprise of rises and this impacts the cost
of material and also affects the process of manufacturing activities.
Thus, role of leader and manager as are-:
Manager- They are the authorities who must take the initiatives to build out the plan of action to
maintain the funding so that entity do not face situation as lack of resources.
Leader- In this, they must take steps to build cordial relationships with suppliers. This assist to
negotiate with them to reduce the price of raw materials (Huo, Gu and Wang, 2019). Thus, leader
must take the systematic steps to arrange the funds so that things can be undertaken in better
mode.
