INTRODUCTIONLeadership development means increases in the quality of leadership, which can bewithin an individual or organization. Leadership qualities includes, communication, decisionmaking, ability to motivate others as well as management, etc. Leadership managementdevelopment refers to imparting knowledge, changing attitudes or increasing skill in anindividual as well as in organization to attempt the current and future management performance(DuBrin, 2012). The report is going to identify the effective managerial leadership developmentinterventions. Furthermore, the relationship between effective LMD and organizationalperformance is evaluating. Competences for measuring effective leadership and managementperformance are covered in this report. It also explains the different difficulties involved withmeasuring leadership competencies. Moreover, also identifying the leadership and managementdevelopment needs. The present report is based on the evaluation of article of “Poor quality peoplemanagement” by Hayley Kirton in which there is a study by investor in people on poor qualitypeople management in UK businesses. In this, IIP identified many practices which have apositive impact on the employees of UK as well as which will also helps in improving thecompany's value.Effective managerial leadership development interventions should a large organization considerensuring that these leaders behave responsibly, to cut out unnecessary expenditure?Leaders plays an important role in managing the company, they work 24/7. The mainresponsibilities are of directing, coaching, supporting and delegating. The developmentinterventions by the leaders helps the company in improving the quality of the peoplemanagement. The company ensures the manager to develop and update the organization'semployees skills and knowledge and also to provide the latest information and techniques tothem. Leaders must have a people management skills, if they are lacking then this will be anexpenditure for the company (Crossan, and et.al., 2013). The leaders have to improve the peoplemanagement skills so that they can manage the people more effectively. By increasing theefficiency in work, it results in increase in the productivity as well as increase in the profit of thecompany as this is a positive impact on the organization. Leader have to update and develop theirown people management skills as to eliminate the expenditure of the company. They have to3

access the latest information and technology regarding their skills, as it will help in managing thetime more effectively and efficiently and also helps in reducing the expenditure of the company.Company also have to reward the leaders according to their performance, by this they will getmotivated and the organization will also benefit in the market (Clifton, 2012).The another development intervention by the leader is of recognizing and rewardingperformance with a motive to boost the company's value. The responsibility is to recognize theperformance of the employees whether tCambriahere performance graph is going up or down.After recognizing their performance, the main motive of the leader is to improve theperformance of the employees. They can improve the performance by rewarding the employeesaccording to their performance (Ehrich, and English, 2012). By providing bonus, promotions,rewards etc. to the employees will bring motivation in the work and also results in improvementin the company's value. They have to manage the work in a proper way that they can easilyrecognize and reward the people. By giving rewards to the employees, they will stick to their job,and no one will leave the company. By this the company's cost of recruitment and selection willbe reduced and will result in cutting off organization's expenditure.The other responsibility of the leader is of structuring the work according to the businessgoal hence it is very effective. This is a process based, in which decisions are made by the leaderand on the key business goal processes (Bishop, 2012). The leader allows the right employees tobe organized efficiently and effectively so to accomplish the key business goal processes.Improper alignment of the work will create confusion as well as inefficiencies in the work aswell as it bring barriers in the improvement and will result in increase the expenditure of thecompany. Therefore, to reduce the expenditure, leader have to manage the work according to thealigned task.
