Primary research methods: This research method is conducted on proprietary basis.
Researchers or people conducting research use direct method of data collection rather than
depending on any other means or data previously collected for any previous research. Data
collected in this form is for researcher's personal use(Liang, Ren, and Sun 2015). This method is
5
used when in-depth analysis is used. There are various modes of conducting a primary research
namely observation, postal surveys, telephone interviews, online surveys and so on.
Data collected from this source is true and fair. It does not involve any fraud or biased
information.
Secondary research methods: This method is exactly opposite of primary research. It
involves using existing data for conducting research. No new data or information is collected in
this type of research. Data published in newspapers, magazines, and documents is used. It
involves less cost as compared to primary research hence it is more cost effective. It saves both
time as well as cost. It helps in ruling out potentially irrelevant projects and project
proposals(Child and Marinova, 2014.).
Data collected by this source may also suffer a few limitations such as it maybe outdated
or personally biased. Many a times there are chances that data collected is not serving the
purpose of research or is irrelevant.
Qualitative research: Qualitative research is a primarily exploratory form of research.
Key focus areas of this research are individuals, societies they are living in and language and
communication. Results drawn from qualitative methods is more descriptive and inferences are
drawn very quickly. This research approach focusses on qualitative aspects rather than quantities
and numerical aspects. Further it helps in understanding opinions, ideas and thoughts of people.
It focusses on a person's behaviour during a certain situation and how they respond to it.
Qualitative data collection methods differ from each other as per unstructured and semi
structured techniques. it is more explorative than quantitative research.
Quantitative research: Quantitative research is a most commonly used form of research
which is used to analyse and evaluate any given problem using numerical aspects and statistical
tools. This approach is used by researchers to study attitudes, opinions , behaviours and so on in
numerical and statistical form. This method does not focus of on qualitative aspects rather uses
only quantities and numbers(Paul and Gupta, 2014). This form of research is conducted
effectively by using computational, statistical and mathematical tools and techniques for
achieving results. This method has a conclusive purpose and applies to larger number of people.

TASK 4
P7 Reflection
While conducting an effective research for British Telecoms, I have gone through various
experiences which have contributed in attaining satisfactory outcome for research. While
conducting this research, I have used both the primary as well as secondary method for gathering
authentic information which have helped me in completing my project within the given time
frame. In primary method of data collection I have chosen questionnaire as it collects
information from the respondents directly. This assures that received information is true and
help in identifying true thoughts of respondents about the asked questions. In addition to this, in
secondary method of data collection I have used books, Journals, online websites, etc. as these
sources will be helpful in attaining authentic information which have been already given by some
other researcher over similar topic. Apart from this, it has been analysed by me that given time
for conducting this research was sufficient as I have executed this research with my best possible
efforts in order to attain valuable outcome for me. I have also observed that money which have
been allotted to me was not satisfactory as it have binded me to gather true information that
could have contributed in reaching true outcome. Along with this, I have also prepared an
effective project management plan which have helped in guiding overall research team to
execute work in effective manner. It can be said that this project management plan not guides
team members of research team but it also reminded me at every that what I have to do and how
I will execute my work responsibility in effective manner in order to meet aims and objective of
research.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned research report, it has been concluded that
globalisation is a vast concept which have transformed working pattern of business
organisations. It has been observed that primary as well as secondary method of data of
collection are helpful in identifying true information in order to meet with project
deadline. In Primary research method, questionnaire have been used to collect
information from 30 respondents by interacting with them personally. In addition to this,
it has been analysed that large scale companies can easily maximise their profitability by
expanding their business at international level. It has been evaluated that globalisation
