INTRODUCTION

concerned activities of specific project. Project management activities includes planning,
organising, implementing, analysing and controlling the specific business project. A specific plan
and its implementation is required to complete the project in a specific manner. The internet of
things improvises the living standards of marketplace as with this having both positive and
negative impact on the society. In this it is essential that most of businesses has offered relative
changes in the marketplace that is resulted in terms of technological advancement and with this
gadget modification is processed over a continuous period of instance. This report is all about the
Internet of Things (IoT) and its impact on daily interaction with gadgets and also analyse its
impact on individual and society. The report below is based on Marks and Spencer which is a
British multinational company and founded in 1884 with having headquarter in London, UK.
The research below is based on Marks and Spencer along with the conversance of project
specific aim, objectives and conduct a small scale research through primary and secondary
research and this report also analyse the data implementation, finding, data presentation and
provide reflective report.

Internet of Things (IoT) explain as a network of specific physical objects or things that
basically embedded with various things like sensors, software and technologies so that data
collection and transaction with the help of other devices over the Internet (Birkel and Hartmann,
2019).
As per concern of IoT different technologies, machine learning and time analytics is
considered through which working credibility is advanced in ordinate basis. For this living
standards and its capabilities both get advanced over a regular period of instance such as home
security, smart framing, ingestible sensors and many other prospect as well. Marks and Spencer

use all the things which help to connect with the internet and consider the easy access of all the
technologies and software. Proper utilisation of internet of things, Marks & Spencer company
continuously derive company growth and make the business operation more active and effective.
IoT devices such sensors, connectivity and data processing that is beneficial for the business as
in order to process various daily basis operations and functions in effective manner. In relation to
this different aims and objectives is processed as per concern of impact of information of
technology towards the growth and development of business.

(Spichkova, et. al., 2016). In this research, the project management plan for the Internet of
Things is about to discussed which explained below-
 Cost - Every project cost determines the whole budget plan as per the requirement
of the research. Cost consider as a amount which basically used by the researcher in
order to conduct the smooth research (Alur, et. al., 2016). Cost is helpful to
complete the project successfully. This research project need a budget plan which

shall used for conduct this research in a specific manner. For this project report,

 Time- a specific time frame is playing a most significant role in the successful
completion of research project. Research aims and objectives are useful to compete the
research on a specific time period. For this project, the researcher will need at least 10
weeks’ time and it considered as a sufficient time which shall be used by the researcher to
conduct research and its entire activities (Dey, De and Soni, 2019). The timeline that is
used to conduct this report is from 12 November and ends at 14 December.
 Quality- All the data and specific details and information’s which mainly gathered by the
researcher must be reliable and qualitative. The quality of information of data is
necessary in the form of research. Researcher used primary and secondary research so
that quality data can be collected. All the data need to be reliable and accurate in nature.
The quality advancement is always been required and with this effectiveness to achieve
long term sustainability and attractiveness is advanced which also pertain to achieve
standardised goals and objectives in timely frame.
 Communication- The importance of communication is more in context to completing
the research project in a successful way. A proper and effective communication is
necessary so that research can get quality knowledge and information in research.
Researcher can use some communication channels like phone, emails, online survet and
face to face interaction to collect the data ( Sterling, Brodowicz and Anderson, 2017).

individual and society consider the main motive of this research. The scope of internet of
Things are very high now a day. Mostly people use gadgets and other electronic
equipment’s to improve their life style. As per analysis of impact of information of
technology ability of business to achieve research objective and aims is processed with
perfection.
 Risk- It reflects the ability to affect working range and its effectiveness through which
capability to achieve standardised goals and objectives become easier. For this researcher
ensure to implement timely based strategies and break the structure as per requirement
and necessity under which working tendency get affects in positive manner (Ghasemi, et.
al., 2018).
 Resources- Some specific resources like human resources, finance and assets helpful to
obtain the whole activities of research in a appropriate way. All the resources are
beneficial to maintain each and every research process.

It is consider as a hierarchical structure that basically outlines the project and breaks in to
many smaller and more manageable and effective portion. WBS can be created by folder and
subfolders and also divide individual task into sub tasks. There are some level of this structure
such as ultimate goal level, project objective level, project output level and last activities
(Vijayan, et. al., 2018).
Work Breakdown Structure helpful in conducting the task of team in to effective form and this
structure mainly developed for the betterment in understanding of the task. The Work
Breakdown Structure is considered in context of this research project of Internet of Things for
the Marks & Spencer company are discussed below-

It is like a bar chart which examine the specific schedule of the project. Gantt Chart is
most popular in demonstrating all the activities , task against the specific time period. One side
of this chart, all the activities are contain and at the top of this chart time frame need for each and
every activities (Melin, Axelsson and Söderström, 2016). This chart also useful to conduct the
planning and scheduling of this project . This chat show the visual and clear presentation of the

Research Methodology is like a roadmap and blueprint of research work which helpful to
accomplish the research task in a specific manner. It is also considered as a methods and
techniques which basically used to recognize the whole process like data collection, data
implementation, data analysis, tools and techniques used. In context to conduct the quality
research, research methodology playing a prominent role. With the help of research methodology
reliable and accurate data used for the research. For this research project, researcher shall utilise
both research includes qualitative and quantitative research that basically used to collect the
primary and secondary data (Ouyang, et. al., 2020).
 Qualitative Research – In this research, data collection through qualitative methods such
as interview, observation, experience and opinion. In this research, non-numerical data
can be considered which make clear understand about the topic through direct and quality
information. All the consideration of research data come under the deep understanding
about this research project topic. The data interaction competed through MS Excel or
another techniques of qualitative research which can be done in both manners primary

data as with this better understanding of concepts, opinion etc. that is also be used to

 Quantitative Research- In this Research, data collecting and analysing through
numerical form which is helpful to generalising the outcome of research in a wider form.
Through quantitative research, researcher quantify the issue or converting the specific
qualitative data and information into quantitative data and also demonstrate the research
finding in to a chart, tables and figures (Pajares, et. al., 2017). In this information is
collected and analysed with concern of numerical analysis
Data collection- Data collection is necessary for each and every research. With the help of data
collection, research easily considers the research outcome and also analyse and implement it on
the basis of some tools and techniques. Data can be collected in two methods like primary data
collection methods and secondary data collection methods. In primary data collection methods,
data can be collected through primary sources like interview, survey, questionnaire,
observations. In secondary data collection, data can be collected through websites, magazines,

newspaper, books, journals and articles (Pearlson, Saunders and Galletta, 2019). In this
researcher uses both primary as well as secondary sources for data collection and in concern of
primary data questionnaire is prepared and in relation to secondary data literature review is
collected. (Radanliev and et. al., 2019).
 Sampling- Sampling is a process which specially used to measure the pre-determined
activities of data which used in a statistically form and taken from the large population.
From large population, research selects some group of people. In respect of this research,
sample size is considered as 20(Saeed and et. al., 2021)

help of Internet of Things company easily maintain each and every business operations which
make company performance, productivity more stronger (Richardson, et. al., 2016).
 From the research survey it can be recommend that this new world is all about the
technologies and digitization so Marks & Spencer company need to more focus to use
regular activities and Updates of technologies which will more enhance the growth of the
company.
 This report analysed that there are many benefits of IoT like improve customers
engagement, reduce the waste and improved the data collection which is helpful for the
each and every individual and society too ( Singh and Chana, 2016).

 It is also recommended that to spread awareness about the social media and other direct
and indirect platform so that more people will know about the importance of Internet of
Things so that it can give more positive impact on the welfare of society.

P7 Reflection
I am very greatful that I got this opportunity to become the essential part of this research study.
In this research I learnt many things which will help in my further studies. To complete the
research in a proper manner I utilities my skills and some knowledge about the Study. I also
experienced many critical situations to deal to completion of this research report. I faced manu
issues like conducting the research and finish the research on a given time period. I also
experienced difficulty to collect the data from the employee so that I used my strengths that is
critical problems solving and I solved this problem very effectively. During the research time, I
analysed that I do not have good knowledge of research so I am considering it as my weakness. I
go through the indepth study of IoT and dentified the impact of gadgets on day to day life of the
individuals, personally, I analysed that gadgets and other technological machination and
equipments are give positive impact in context of individuals development and betterment of
society. From this research , I aware with the importance of smart phone, smart homes, smart
office and smart cities. With the help of Internet of Things like interrelated computing devices,
digital machines and other gadgets helpful increase the productivity of company and also helpful
to increase the level of education and transportation. I learnt various skills like time management,
data analysis and implementation. My over all experience about this research is remarkable and I
also learned a lots of things from this research, Apart from this I also leaned how technologies
useful to create the better world.
CONCLUSION
As per this research project, it can be concluded that Internet of Things give positive
impact on individual and society. Most of the people are using IoT very effectively. This report
analysed that there are many benefits of IoT like it enhance the education level and customer
engagement and this report also identified that safety is considered the main challenge of IoT.
Besides this, this report analysed that most of the people used smart phone and computer table

devices to connect the internet and mostly people agreed that IoT give the positive impact on
individual and society.
