INTRODUCTIONIn any hotel house keeping department has a major contribution in profits even though itan ancillary service. Customer demand a tidy, clean, pleasing ambience and safe securedenvironment which they choose as accommodation. Housekeeping department projects the firstimpression on minds of guests how well they will be treated in hotel and what kind of facilitiesthey are going to have. Present report will analyse importance of housekeeping department itsinterrelation with other departments of hotel. It will help to find out importance of maintenanceand repairs in hotel as well as why security system are important in hotel.LO 3P6 Key roles in house keeping departmentHigh standard: house keeping department has the key role in maintaining the standardof the hotel. The standard of the hotel can be increased by ensuring the cleanliness in the hotel inall the department. Through this the hotel progression route will impact on the customers forhygiene and cleanliness as unhygienic places does not attract customers. The skills that are required for maintaining high standard are keeping the workers healthylevel of fitness. Awareness for the health and safety. By maintaining the high standard customersgets satisfaction for the services that are provided to the customers within the quality standard.Another skills that is required is interpersonal skills which is used to work in the team and havegood listening attitude to avoid miscommunication (Kichuk, Brown and Ladkin, 2019).Comfort level: the accommodation services should be provided by the hotel with theproper comfort of appropriate décor of rooms, odour, furnishing of hotel and comfort of services.The progression route of the hotel will increase with the help of giving satisfactory services tothe guests. The skills which are required is to increase the comfort level for guest and understandthe problems that guests are facing in the services that are being provided by the hotel industries.The comfort adds extra stars on the hotel reputation in the market. When guests gets morecomfort it create the sense for belongingness for guests towards the hotel (The roles andresponsibilities of the housekeeping department, 2015).Safety and security: the key role of housekeeping is to maintain the safety and securityof the its staff and the guests.
