INTRODUCTION
Managing business activity can be determined as a process through which organization or
individuals make sure that they operate their business operation in an effective manner. In
business operation there are many activities which takes place and it includes investing, buying,
selling, marketing, etc. which an aim to generate profit. In this context, it is very important to
have a proper and systematic analysis so that business activities can be operated properly (Jeon
and Choi, 2012). In addition to this, it also includes function like financial, marketing, human
resource management, operations, etc. which are very important functions within business entity.
Present report is about ABC Company which hires employees for other organizations. This
report covers the importance of business processes in delivering outcomes based upon business
goals and objectives. Further, it covers, developing plan for own area of responsibility to
implement operational plans. Lastly, it also includes managing health and safety within the
business organization.
TASK 1
1.1 Evaluating interrelationship among different process and functions of the ABC Company by
drawing and organizational chart
In accordance with the given information, below given is the organizational structure of
ABC Company which will be helpful in determining different position and levels which are been
followed by them within the organization:
As it is shown in the diagram that Companies CEO is at the top level and it is the
responsibility of the CEO to develop strategies with the help of which all other functions can be
managed effectively (Lee and Morrison, 2010). All the fund related issues of operation are
handled by finance department and they make sure that other operations get proper fund in order
to achieve their goals and objectives efficiently. Further, the marketing department is responsible
for making use of different strategies through which organization will be able to promote their
services to customers. This is one of the main roles as it provides awareness regarding the
product and services developed by ABC Company to its service users. Operational department
focus on determining the operational process and the managing production of the company.
Lastly, HR department is responsible to make sure that all the employees within the organization
are able to up on their full efficiency on their roles and responsibilities. In addition to this, they

hire candidates according to requirement of the firm and also make use of different strategies so
that healthy environment can be develop where employees feel free to work. In present situation,
organization is facing issues in their operation department which is negatively affecting the
business operations (McAuley, Duberley and Johnson, 2007).
Determining relationship between functions and process is given below:
According to the discussion done above, it can be stated that advertisement, promotion,
training, recruitment, retention, financial management, research and development, etc. are
considered to be the most important functions of ABC Company. Further, there are many
systematic procedures which has to be followed in order to make the function effectively. In this
context, in order to make these process effective, there are many activities which has to be
fulfilled in every function. For example, for marketing, it is important for the organization to
make proper process with the help of which customers can be attracted (Muondo and Perkins,
2013). It includes process like through television, newspaper, etc. and activities includes making
advertisement.
1.2 Aims, Objectives and Mission of ABC Company and Process map of financial management
Aims, Objectives and Mission of ABC Company:
According to the given business scenario poor management, inappropriate leadership and
high employee turnover are considered as major issues of ABC organization. Along with this,
company wants to increase the financial performance of the organization. So, resolving issues
and getting success are known as major objectives of the company (Reynolds and Lancaster,
2007). So, according to the given information aim, objectives and mission of ABC are as
follows:

Major aim of ABC organization is managing business activities of the organization and
getting success in future.
Objectives:
 To improve the management of different functions of ABC company.
 To adopt appropriate style of leadership for leading different personnel of the company.
 To augment the monetary performance of the organization.
 To adopt appropriate strategy to reduce worst deficit of the company.

this organization uses a specific procedures. This process play important role in forecasting
appropriate requirements of the funds and making arrangement of the finance from different
sources(Types of processes in an organization, 2015). Along with this, it is also appropriate for

Getting solution of different problems of the organization is one of the major objective of
ABC. It can be attained by developing an appropriate operational plan which will comprise
different roles and responsibilities in effective manner. At the time of designing operational plan
ABC needs to focus on different legal, regulatory and ethical considerations. It will play
important role in designing most feasible and reliable operational plan for whole organization

 As per the different problems and objective organization needs to find different
alternative ideas for resolving issues.
 Afterwards, ABC Company needs to select best action to resolve all problems (Buchanan
and Huczynski, 2010).
 Selected action must be focused on different approaches and practices of leadership and
management which will play important role in improving working environment of the
firm.
 For getting appropriate solution to resolve organizational issues ABC Company needs to
adopt modern approach of management and participative leadership style.
 Environmental analysis of the organization has reflected that low level of motivation is
one of the major reason behind the high employee turnover, so operational plan of the
organization should focus on different techniques for improving motivation level of each
and every employee. It will help in reducing employee turnover as well as work deficit of
the organization (Murphy andYetmar, 2010).
 Operational plan needs to focus on each and every aspect of the organization
management.
 Health and safety of employee is one of the major requirement of the company so, ABC
organization should focus on all rules and regulation regarding the same. It will play
important role in developing appropriate policies for organization.
 Therefore, appropriate operational plan will play very significant role in improving
overall quality of the organization.
Overall, above discussed plan is one of the appropriate plan for attaining all aim and
objectives and overall performance of the frim (Bass and Riggio, 2008).

Recommendations
For attaining all objectives ABC Company should focus on reducing employee turnover
by developing favourable organizational policies for all employees (Business Activities, 2015).
Along with this, company needs to use appropriate motivational techniques for increasing level
of satisfaction of all personnel. It will raise the chances of reducing employee turnover. Along
with this by improving financial performance ABC should focus on reducing the total cost of all
service ices which will raise the profitability of the organization. In addition, organization should
improve the marketing and advertising activities of the firm. It will help in attracting customers
and increasing sales revenue of the firm. Implementation of operational plan is also one of the
appropriate activity for reducing operational delay and work deficit. For executing all changes
ABC Company needs to adopt appropriate process of change management which will help in
implementing all changes in coming five months (Avgerou, 2008). In addition, organization
needs to use appropriate strategy and techniques for maintaining financial stability in overall
performance of the organization. For example ABC Company can use investment appraisal
methods, budgetary control techniques, etc. Along with this, for increment in financial
performance ABC Company needs to use appropriate tool for allocating financial and
operational performance of the organization. In addition organization needs to allocate roles and
responsibilities to each and every personnel as per their skills and knowledge. Iit will help in
increasing their motivation level and individual performance. It will play very significant role in

focus on consideration of different policies, processes, rules and regulations in effective manner.
As per the organizational issues this system must be focused on employees of the organization
(Wilkinson, 2009). In addition, at the time of designing organization policies for all employees
ABC needs to focus on different ethical and legal requirements of the firm. In addition, for
attaining financial standards of quality ABC Company needs to use appropriate system of
financials management which will help in reducing cost and attaining all quality standards.
Including this, quality standards in marketing and standards organization should focus on digital
and online marketing activities which will raise the opportunity to target customers at right time.

help in attaining aim and objectives in effective manner which is also one of the major

control
Monitoring and control can be defined ads a process of measuring performance of the
organization on regular basis. It also help in implementing operational plan in effective manner.
Determining progress of each and every activity is one of the major objective of monitoring and
control process. Along with this, for implementing all necessary changes in management and
leadership it is required to focus on operational plan in effective manner. Monitoring and control
also help in developing strong association between different functions, operations and personnel
of the organization (Butler, 2010). It plays very significant role in managing different activities at
workplace. Monitoring and control plays significant role in managing risks at workplace which is

the operational plan results (Lucio, 2013). Operational plan has suggested appropriate
management of input and output of the company which will reduce the work deficit. Monitoring
and control process helps in assuring appropriate the same. Therefore, it is required for meeting

3.1 Explaining the systems required to manage and monitor quality standards of ABC Company Management information system (MIS): It is one of the important system for developing
records of all important information of the company. MIS is required for manage and
storage all necessary information for decision-making process. It plays very significant
role in making communication and maintaining quality at workplace. Along with this, it
plays important role in improving speed of each and every activity of the organization
(Murphy andYetmar, 2010).
 Customer Relationship management system: ABC Company needs to use electronic
CRM system for developing strong relationship with customers of the organization.
Along with this, it plays important role in getting feedback from customers about the
services of the company by which organization can take appropriate action to provide
customized services to customers. CRM system is also essential for attracting customers
towards the services of ABC. It is necessitate for maintaining quality in services for
customers of the organization (Mullins, 2010).
 Communication system: ABC Company needs to focus on adopting appropriate system
of communication with employees as well as customers. For example, ABC Company
can use mails, telephones, video conferencing and other channels for making

communication with employees. It is required for maintaining strong relationship with
personnel of the organization. Along with this, it is also necessitate for reducing
employee turnover. Along with this, internet is one of the best way to make
communication with customers of the organization (Buchanan and Huczynski, 2010).
 Monitoring and control system: As per the above discussion monitoring and control
system is required for aligning all activities with operational plan. Along with this,
maintaining all quality standard is also one of the major requirements of this system. It
plays important role in measuring performance of each and every activity on required
time. Therefore, monitoring and system is one of them major requirements for attaining
success in future (Wilkinson, 2009).
3.2 Demonstrating a quality culture to ensure continuous monitoring, evaluation and
development of the process
ABC organization needs to maintain quality culture for managing organizational
activities with required quality standards. For maintaining quality culture at workplace
organization needs to focus on reducing discrimination at workplace. Along with this, company
needs to assure about that all activities must be based on organizational objectives and required
quality. In addition, for effective completion of each activity ABC Company should allocate
roles and responsibility as per the skills and knowledge of all personnel (Charantimath, 2005). It
will encourage them to given their best outcome. Appropriate considerations of beliefs, customs,
values, attitudes and personality of different employees is also one of the major requirements of
the quality culture. So, ABC organization needs to focus on all these attributes in effective
manner. Rules and regulations of government also plays very important role in developing strong
quality culture at workplace so, at the time of developing different policies for employees and
other stakeholders ABC Company needs to focus on all acts and legislations which will helps in
resolving all issues associated with the legal matters which will maintaining quality culture at
workplace. Including this, maintaining health and safety at workplace is also one of the major
requirements of the organization. So, at the time of developing quality culture organization
should focus on health and safety of all employees. Including this, organization needs to
implement all required quality system for maintaining effective culture at workplace (Bass and
Riggio, 2008). Therefore, all the above discussed activities are required for maintaining strong
quality culture at workplace.

3.3 Recommendations for improvements
For improving performance and resolving all issues ABC Company needs to focus on
aim, objectives, goal and mission. Including this, Organization should focus on accomplishment
of all activities one time. Including this, it is required to maintaining strong relationship between
all functions and procedures of the organization (Lucio, 2013). As per the given case study ABC
Company needs to improve management and leadership of the firm. For improving management,
ABC organization needs to adopt all principles of management of different departments. Along
with this, participative leadership style will also help in improving relationship between
employees and company which will reduce employee turnover. In addition, for improving
monitoring and control aspects organization should use appropriate techniques of monitoring and
control such as balance score card. It will be appropriate for monitoring and control of the
organization. Organizations should adopt different motivational technique such as rewards
system, favourable policies, effective working environment, etc (Butler, 2010). Appropriate
production and operation process will also help in reducing delay in overall operation of the
organization. ABC should implement MIS, CRM and communication system on time because it
will be required for managing different activities of the organization. Along with shim
development quality culture is also one of the major requirement for maintaining quality so,
ABC needs to maintain strong quality culture at workplace which will leads attainment of all
quality standards. In addition, ABC should also focus on adopting appropriate financial
techniques for improving financial performance of the organization. For example, company can
use NPV, IRR and other methods for selecting best investment option. Overall, all these
strategies will help in improving the overall performance of the organization and attaining aim
and objectives in effective manner (Avgerou, 2008).
3.4 Wider implications of proposed changes within the organization
For implementation of proposed changes ABC organization needs to adopt appropriate
process of change management which will help in managing each and every activity in effective
manner. Employee resistance towards changes is one of the major drawback which can affect the
change management process of the organization (Reynolds and Lancaster, 2007). So, for
resolving this issue organization needs to communicate each and everything to all employee
which will help in managing changes at workplace and reducing employee resistance. Along
with this, at the time of implementation all changes ABC needs to allocate roles and

this, changes can increase the demand of new skill and expertise so, for adopting all this changes

changes with machinery and other equipment so, ABC needs to focus on health and safety at
workplace. In addition, organization needs to develop contingency plan to mitigate risk on time.

in finance, marketing and operation department. These strategies will resolve all issues and help
in attaining aim and objectives in effective manner (González, 2004).
4.1 Risk assessments and appropriate action
For making necessary improvement ABC Company needs to determine different types of
risks associated with the different activities. Risk assessment will help in taking best action for
mitigating risks in effective manner (Lucio, 2013). Consideration of legislations and regulations
help in reducing probability of risk at workplace. According to the given case study security of
health and safety at workplace is one of the major aspect of risk. Due to this reason health and
safety risk is high at ABC Company and its workplace. According to the employment act
organization needs to take most appropriate action to reduce health and safety risk as well as
organization needs to manage health and safety at workplace. In addition, inappropriate
management and leadership reduce opportunities for employee growth. Therefore, it is also
considered as major risk for organization. Therefore, for reducing this types of risk modern
approach of management and changes in leadership styles are appropriate for reducing overall
risks at workplace. Including this, inappropriate financial performance and work deficit lead
financial risk at workplace. So, for reducing financial risk organization needs to make
appropriate arrangement of funds from different financials resources (Murphy andYetmar, 2010).
Including this, ABC can use different tools and techniques such as NPV, IRR and budgetary
control technique, etc. For managing these risks ABC Company needs to sue appropriate process
of risk management which will comprise risk identification, risk analysis and appropriate action
to mitigate risks in effective manner. Overall, above discussed process and actions will play
important role in managing different types of risks at workplace. It will lead reduction in
negative impacts of these uncertainties on employees and organization (Charantimath, 2005).

4.2 Demonstrating the correct and effective application of the health and safety regulations and
Legislation applicable in ABC Company
As per the above discussion health and safety is one of the major requirements for
improving overall performance (Bass and Riggio, 2008). Regarding this government has
established different rules and regulations. So, ABC Company needs to adopt all these
legislations for maintaining health and safety in an organization. For example, as per the rules
and regulation ABC Company needs to identify different risks for employees, determine
different alternative actions for reducing impact of these risks. Selecting best one for mitigating
risk in effective manner and implement appropriate action to manage these risks. In addition,
there are number of aspects for maintaining health and safety at workplace. As per the Fire and
Safety Act ABC company needs to make appropriate arrangement for reducing the effects of
sudden fire on employees and organization (Wilkinson, 2009). Along with this, in case of any
danger ABC Company needs to state warning for employees about the specific danger. It will
help in maintaining health and safety at workplace. Health and safety regulations helps in
developing quality culture and effective work environment. Including this, ABC Company needs
to consider all rules and regulations at the time of developing organizational policy, it will play
important role in resolving issues associated with health and safety. Including this, emergency
process is also one of the major requirements for reducing negative effects of different risks
(Mullins, 2010).
4.3 Systematic review of organizational health and safety policies and procedures
Review of the health and safety policies of ABC has reflected that organization has
developed some policies for well-fairness of employees but company has not implemented these
policies in effective way. Along with this, organization is not focusing on appropriate monitoring
and control of these policies (Green, 2007). So, it creates risks of health and safety for
employees. All these issues increases dissatisfaction among employees which leads increment in
overall employee turnover of the organization. In addition, organization has not focused on all
rules and regulations at the time of developing policies so, these policies do not help organization
in maintaining high quality standards in terms of health and safety. Inappropriate workplace
environment, infeasible working conditions, no emergency department are the major issues of
health and safety management of ABC (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, 2015). Overall,

organization has not developed and follow all policies and procedures of health and safety in a
systematic way. So, it increase risks for health and safety for employees.
4.4 Practical application of health and safety policies and procedures ABC Company
According to the above analysis study has disclosed that ABC Company has developed
some health and safety policies but did not implement these policies in effective manner. So,
practice implication of all these health and safety policies and processes is required for
maintaining health and safety at workplace of ABC Company. Health and Safety at Work Act
1974 is one of the major legislation for the same but company does not consider all rules of this
act so, for maintaining risks of health and safety for employees ABC Company needs to focus of
this act. In addition, ABC Company should focus on needs and requirements of employee which
will help in maintaining effective working environment at workplace (Butler, 2010). Along with
this, organization should also develop emergency department for managing crisis risk at
workplace. Overall all these practice implication are necessitated for maintaining health and
safety at workplace.
CONCLUSION
The current research project has concluded that ABC Company needs to focus on
managing different business activities such as financial, marketing, human resource
management, operations, etc. It will play important role in getting success and resolving all
associated problems in effective manner. This report has described significant of different
business processes in delivering outcomes and resolving issues. Further, it has formulated
operational plan for promoting aim, objectives and responsibilities. It has also included different
activities which help in maintaining health and safety at workplace.
