INTRODUCTION
Globalisation is defined as the process of exchanging of goods and services within
different countries. This helps in increasing the business across different countries and making
profits. This is an ongoing process of creation of fortune for sustaining in the market and society.
This is a process of interaction with various government, culture, beliefs, values, etc. The
following report is based on the company naming Sainsbury. This is a third largest chain of
supermarket of UK. This was founded in the year 1869 by John James Sainsbury. This company
is running three type of businesses naming Sainsbury Supermarket, Sainsbury Bank and
Sainsbury Argos. This report will explain the aim and objective of the project, different aspects
of project including cost, quality, scope, size, etc. Also this report contains Gantt chart and
Work Breakdown Structure for defining the activities and tasks of the project. The research
project is carried out by using various kinds of research methods and techniques. A proper
research is conducted when best method or technique is used for conducting and analysing the
research data.
Globalisation is an important element which helps in developing and growing business
across the world. It is important for the company to increase the sales of the company and also
increasing the profitability and efficiency of the company. This helps in building competitive
advantage in market. The main objective of globalisation is to improve the process of trading of
services and products that will be able to satisfy the needs and demands of the customers of
various countries. Globalisation creates a positive impact on the economic condition of the
country. In context of United Kingdom, there are various companies from distinct industries
which are investing on this country and starting new businesses. This helps in increasing flow of
foreign direct investment in the country. Globalisation also helps in decreasing unemployment
in the country as new business creates opportunity for hiring new employees. This helps in
enhancing economy and GDP of the country. This also helps in creating a positive impact on
culture. Individuals from different part of the world move to UK for doing business there. The
ethical environment of UK has also changed after the process of globalisation. Various
companies are running business in UK by following rules and regulations given by the
government. This is helpful in doing business properly and increasing efficiency and
effectiveness in business. It can be said that globalisation helps in increasing growth and

country.

Globalisation is defined as the process that helps in increasing the economic
interdependency that affects the value of commodity. This helps in attaining of higher level of
growth in market. The advancement in technology has helped in decreasing the cost of
transaction. Each and every company requires money and funds for while operating at a global
level. In context of Sainsbury, this company is a big supermarket and third largest retailer of UK
and thus it is important for this company to meet the needs and demands of the customer and
achieve goals and objectives of the company.
The aim of this report is “To analyse the positive, economic, cultural and ethical impact
of globalisation on different functions of the company. A case study on Sainsbury.”

Cost Cost is defined as the amount of money which is required
for doing tasks and activities of business. When
companies are operating globally they require a proper
amount of fund or money to accomplish goals and

objectives of the company. A company needs funds for
using new technology, marketing, promotional activities,
human resources, equipments, etc. Every company plans
budgets and funds before operating business as if this
company do not has a planned budget then there is risk of
getting fail in achieving the goals and objectives of the
company. This creates negative impact on the financial
management of the company. . If company has not
planned their budget before globalisation, then its chances
of getting failed in the business is high which will create a
negative impact on the balance sheet of company. On the
other hand, cost incurred in conducting research by the
researcher is also high as different method is used at the
time of collecting information like primary and secondary
information and at the time of analysing the data, costly
software is used like SAS, SAP etc. Proper planning is
requires while conducting research.
Scope Scope is defined as the opportunities present while
starting a new business at global level. Sainsbury has a
large scope and in every market as it is a well known
brand and customers will be satisfied by the services and
offerings provided by this company. This helps the
organisation in increasing both market share as well as
customer share. While conducting this research, the
investigator has scope to analyse the relationship between
globalisation and company's performance over time. The
investigator has also opportunity to find concept of
globalisation and how this affects various functions of the
the company.

Time Time plays an essential role in the success of
accomplishing a project. There should be a fixed time for
the completion of project. The proper management of
time helps company to invest right amount of fund at
right time. In context of Sainsbury, research is conducted
for globalisation and this will help in determining
inefficiency of planning as technology and strategic
changes of the company. The investigator must complete
project within time as this will help in getting accurate
results.
Quality Any company can increase customer experience and
engagement with company by providing good quality
services and products to customers. In context of
Sainsbury, this company uses latest technology and
devices for providing a good service to its customers.
This helps in building a good relationship with customers.
It is very important for the researcher to conduct a quality
research and achieve best outcomes of the project. An
effective research can be conducted if there is elimination
and avoidance of various factors such as favouritism,
biases, genuine research, proper use of different methods
of data collection etc. while conducting the research.

operating at global level. There must be a good
