INTRODUCTIONGlobalisation refers to process of integration and interaction between firms, governmentsand people in all over the world. It has developed due to the advances in the communication aswell as transportation technology. With enhanced global interaction comes development of theinternational culture, ideas and trade. Developing interconnectedness and interdependences ofmodern world by enhanced flow of services, people, capital etc. This present report is based onMarks & Spencer company. It deals in the retail market and provide food products, homeproducts, clothing etc. It provide its services in many different countries. Under mention reportwill be discuss about the aims and objectives of project (Ardichvili and et. al., 2012). In givenreport will be discuss about project management plan that cover the different aspects such asrisk, time, scope, communication etc. Small – scale investigation through applying thequantitative and qualitative research methods for meeting with the objectives and aims of projectwill be discussed here. There will be mention about the Gantt chart and Work Breakdownstructure that help in provide the proper framework as well as the stages to complete the project. TASK 1P1 Project aims and objectivesGlobalisation is an ongoing procedure that is connecting neighbourhoods, regions, peopleand the countries which are closely to work. It consist technology, capital, data, products andservices. An expansion of the international market liberalize economic activities for exchange ofservices and products. In this, globalisation is imply of national as well as local perspective towider outlook of interdependent and interconnected world with the free transfer of products,services and capital across the boarders. Due to emphasis on the diversity, globalisation has moreeffect on way that firms manage its staff members. Globalisation influence the company tocompete for consumers whose expectations are high for cost, performance and quality. It exertsthe pressure in Human Resource function in order to adopt the changing needs of company andadd the more value (Bhabha, 2012). In context to globalisation, human resource functions plays anecessary role in the business. It recruit high quality of employees, provide them training,enhance motivation etc. Human resource function is considered as administrative overhead andcost centre. The main focus of this function is on the savings as well as short- term gains. Inregards to this, responsibilities and roles of HR function are transforming as modern business1

face globalisation pressure. For the managers, the main issue are related to global supply to highqualifies employees, gap etc. Background of projectGlobalisation leads to enhanced competitions. It can be concerned to the service, cost,product, technology, target market etc. If firm will produce the high quality of goods at minimumcots then it will help in enhance its market share. It has the positive economic, ethical andcultural consequences such as tax policies, change in income level of consumers, languagedifferences, rules etc. In addition to this, globalisation has enhanced the awareness of cross-culture and also sense related to the global crisis (Briscoe, Tarique and Schuler, 2012).Globalisation means when company expand its business or operations in other country. Itdevelop its impact on the human resource function as well as management. It is necessary forMarks & Spencer business firm to include the diverse range of the adjustments to hire the wellqualified and capable staff member, provides them proper training, sustain and also support themwhich are spread in many countries. It is necessary to human resource function to use thedifferent HRM practices for an instance foreign regulations, technological developments andcultural differences. These all are the necessary practices which company need to consider forexpanding the business in order countries. Marks & Spencer is largest retailer in world and it hasalmost 150 stores in around 30 countries including the 130 franchise. In United Kingdom, it haspopular chain of clothings. The main objective of this company is to meet with expectations ofconsumers and also provide the better access to products. It entered in global markets throughtargeting South Africa and Hong Kong by export its goods in these countries.Under this, The main activities of human resource is to enhance productivity, makeimprove in quality of life, job satisfaction, enhance motivation etc. Human resource function ishelpful in develop the better global business through developing the new patterns or ways thatdrive to input the globalisation (Chatterjee, 2013). The HRM is able to be more successful staffmembers by providing them training and enhance their knowledge in an effective or bettermanner. If Marks & Spencer company will conduct its business globalise then it will provide thebetter benefits to business along with helpful in enhance its market share in the competitivemarket in an effective or significant manner. Marks & Spencer, large companywhich do its business on global or international level and it make project management plan tocontrolled and monitor its resources and to know about the positive economic, cultural andethical influences on international level. There are four phases of project management, initiationand planning, execution, project monitoring and control and project closing which help M&C torun its business properly. These four factors consists of tasks, activities, milestones,dependencies and resources. If M&C do project management for its any project, it follow somesteps like, Initiating-This is the first step in this the Comoran determine the nature and scope of theproject and this stage is not performed well because things are not clear related the project. Thisstage include ideas, goal, duration, direction, components, stakeholder analysis, financialanalysis and swot analysis (Florea, Cheung and Herndon, 2013). Planning- In this stage, if M&C started the planning for a project, it include plan time,cost, resources and other functions which is used during the time of project planning. Project3

planning is mainly consists of risk planning, developing the budget, selecting the planning teamand developing the scope statement. Executing- Here it is important to know that the planned terms that need to be executedor not. This phase is include proper allocation, co-ordination and proper management of humanresources and other resources which are need in the project management (Idowu and et. al.,2013). Monitoring and controlling- This include measuring the project activities and projectvariables like cost, effort and scope etc. In M&C in this process it also provide feedback whichuse for implementing to correct, protect, monitor and control actions which brigs complianceswithin the project management plan. If there are any change is occur in project and in planning ithelp the company to control its resources and these changes. Closing- It include two factor, first is market report that tells about previous factors thatthe process which is done through these factors are correct and project for which projectmanagement plan is done are run globally or not. The second element is project review which isrelated to the human resource like members of the team. They meet and put their own inputsregarding the implementation of the project (Ioannou and Serafeim, 2012). In M&S the manger designed the project management plan which is effective andessential and complete all activities related to this plan in given period of time. There are variouscomponents of project management plan which is used by the manger in project managementplanning , they are as following:Cost- It is related to the budget of the project that how much cost is invest in the project.It is divided in three part when a company do project management plan like, capital items,expenses items and labour. Scope- This is important factor which is related to the project. In the M&C search scopefor its project that the project is run forward in the future or not. Globalization help in thisbecause it has large scope to support a company to increase or expand its marketing functionsand sales or revenue. Time- It is the main component for the project management plan. The mangers of M&Cif complete the project on time, it is beneficial for the company. It achieve its objective on time.
