INTRODUCTION
• TESCO is a big retail company and it provides good
quality of products and services at lower price.
• In this presentation mentioned about the key roles and
responsibilities of marketing functions and the marketing
environment.

P1 Key roles and responsibilities of
marketing function
 Marketing is a process of many activities which are related
to selling and purchasing of services and goods.
 In this, involves promotional activities, selling and supply
products to customers.

Promotion- It is helpful in aware people about about the
new products and services of an organisation. It is helpful
in enhancing the sales and goodwill of company. The
main responsibility of this department is to make the
attractive advertisement and also give new schemes and
offers.

• In an organisation, there are many departments work and
the roles and responsibilities of each department is
different from the another department in marketing field.
• The main objective of each functions to carried out all
business activities in an effective and efficient way.

Finance function- This department provides finance for
many marketing activities like production process,
promotion or advertisement activities. It will be anticipated
to monitor and assist the aims and purposes which are
connected to maintain low cost of production with
improving the quality of products and services. Its main
function is to manage and control the money for business
activities

M1 Roles and accountability of marketing
related to environment
• The environment of marketing plays big role in marketing
related activities.
• There are two factors which are related to the marketing
environment that are micro environment and macro
environment.
• In context to marketing environment, in internal functions
include customers, suppliers, employees and on the other
hand, in external environment includes technological,
social, legal etc.

Shareholders- They are the owners of company and each
business organisation has an objective of increase the wealth
of shareholders. So, activities of marketing should be
adopted to keeping in mind to give return to them.

• The marketing plays intermediate role among outside
world and company and its main focus on the needs and
demands of customers.
• In Tesco, there are many functions work and they are
interrelated with each other.
• All departments in this organisation are working together.
There are many different departments are working such as
human resource, finance, marketing, production etc.

Analyse and evaluate key elements of
marketing function and interrelationship
In the marketing, various kinds of functions are included for
an instance selling, human resource, marketing, etc. All
functions are working together but their responsibilities
and also roles are different from each other. In Tesco,
there are customer service, selling, distribution
departments are together working for accomplishing the
common objectives.
